BHP beginning to feel the heat... and that's good work by Bob and co.

twigger bought 750k at 9.9p back in october and scott bought more too. both thought 9p levels were bottom. i think they based that on the assumption that £270m market cap is the bottom end. the drop to £168m market cap (5.6p) was astonishing.

if you go back to the covid world was ending days of 2022, the sp dropped to test 10p based on 2.2bln shares in issue so about £220m market cap on 85% of ensa. we have 100% ensa now of course.

so the fall to 5.6p was apparently far more doomsday driven than covid which by the way saw the dow jones fall from 30k levels down to 19k levels. it's now at near 40k level. so everything bounced back post covid.... accept for inflation hurting stocks like miners and others.

with us elections in 2024 (nov) it's very rare for markets to have a bad year as they want happy clapping voters... just shows the level of manipulation at political level.

bottom line... solg should be recovering from here on based on market metrics and not news. so combined with some meaningful news is the perfect ****tail we need to bounce back to late teens or ealry 20's pre bid / counter bid stage ... we hope.

Who know's? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. No point in making guesses on what could have been. Just deal in facts and reality. We are where we are for a reason... because this management team have allowed it.

We are too far downstream now to be turning back... so just a case of strapping yourself in and enjoy the ride. Plenty have jumped off long ago as the ride was making them sick.

If Bob and Scott ran a fairground ride, they'd be giving away paper bags with every ticket.

Lets move on... see how it goes and blow smoke up each others derrieres when we pass 50p. Anything less and it will be a failure of epic proportions.

The god awlful mess you refer to (I can't see it myself) was valued by the market at 22p+. It's this god awful poor attempt by this management team to try and take that apparent 22p+ mess and turn it inot a 5.6p mess as of Monday this week.

Launching an SR almost 18 months ago and then not delivering an outcome is nothing more than sending the market 'we're in a mess messages'. Running the cash pile down to sub $8m as of now puts us in a mess. Moth balling the company / exploration plans for 18 months... puts the biz in a mess in terms of appeal to new investors.

The list goes on.

So I don't buy this... apparent 'turn-around' story at all. We are in a bigger mess now 6p than we were when we were 22p.

The mess started when the keys got handed over to the CGP boys ... end of.

Whether we come out of that mess in a better shape... who knows??? But to suggest Scott has turned things around is utter tosh.

He's delivered very little while burning through $85m in cash! That's factual.

The PFS was welcome but lets face it ... could have been sorted in 4 months based on shifting some metal pricing about. Not 14 months! The Ecuador agreements are a long time coming and should have been sorted under Lasso's presidency but instead we acted slowly and resulted in us having to undergo a stressful election campaign period and then dleays while Noboa got his feet under the table.

Here's a question for you. Do you think Scott has earned those 17m share options and do you think he deserves more awards in the upcoming remuneration (self appointed) nest feathering meeting?

Decent volume again with 12.5m traded in first 2 hours or so.

The ISA (30 day rule brigade) will be pondering the dicing risks with selling out and hoping to buy back April 6th.

Based on news flow... a risky play this year for sake of tax benefit although the latter could be considerable if as we all hope... sp goes into cartwheel mode back to 40's and 50's.

NMM, you are correct, SOLG run from june to june for some god unknown reason! Do TSX rules require them to ensure/prove 6 months cash on forward work programme basis? Hence, when's the next MD&A? 15th May looks latest for 3rd Q/ MD&A but as we all know... fiance from some form needed well before then.

Schlemiel, absolutely... super majors want the red tape sorted before they step into the ring as it often costs them much more when they initiate it simply because of their known deep pockets.

As mentioned in my last post, it's the 'exploitation agreement' execution which matters as well as it locks in the legals and other stuff on social and environmentals.

I think SOLG need the tailings / land acquisitions finalised before they can execute it. SOLG can execute the agreement anytime after the Dec 6th 2023 signing. But they only have 6 months to do it in. Hence... it's coming very soon.

When you throw in the recent Chinese appointment of non exec... I think the story is being laid out loud and clear.

The technical report has filing date of March 31st but again, I think you'll probably see that very soon too because they CANT do any insider / finance raising without issuing that to the market first for obvious reasons. So we might get Technical report very soon followed by finance deal followed by land purchases followed by execution of exploitation agreement followed by .... Sale or monetisation event... and all before early May in theory!

Exploitation phase and execution of that before May 6th is the final lock in process.

So we have the following lined up in next 8 weeks in no particular order

1. Technical report - due before April 1st.

2. Full year results accounts sign off before March 31st

3. Exploitation agreement 'executed' before May 6th

4. A funding solution to keep lights or or some monetisation event (before March 31st due to accounts sign off I believe)

5. Directors awarding themselves more bonus shares... they never miss a deadline on that one lol!

Strap yourselves in then... after 18months of zero progress... Bob and co suddenly seem motivated to deliver. Lets hope they don't issue 157m shares to their buddies at a low sp price as that really will stink a bit. I'm expecting it and have been for a while, but part of me is hoping Maxit and co are bigger and better than that.

I did say a while back that this guy is motivated big time as he has a year to prove himself in what will be a catwalk for next Feb elections. He'll want Ecuador's largest ever mining investment to be looking nicely advanced ... that's for sure.

Equally... it won't want egg on his face. It won't look good on him if he's signed a big mining deal only to see it going no where fast. So logic says... he must have discussed finance or seen sight of finance plan before agreeing to IPA. There's no reason for him to agree to the IPA unless it is required prior to finance. So as BBG says... the finance package deal or 'intent to finance' letter of intent etc etc will be in place. So question is... is this the long awaited sale or the first domino to fall that draws all the buyers on sidelines to the table??

SOLG shareholders need it... Mather most certainly needs it. Bob feo needs it. Noboa absolutely needs it. China need it. And... a few others out there really need a Tier1 asset to drive growth forwards over next 10 to 20 years+.

On that basis... it will get built and Franco inc Osisko knew that long ago. But a few on here seem to have doubted it.

So with EXPLOITATION CONTRACT signed early Dec 23, SOLG have until Early May to excute it which in effect locks in the "legal, economic, technical, social and environmental commitments of the Company".

So as far as I'm aware, funding package will need to be outined and revealed before May 6th.

No wonder the house broker expects fireworks over next few wees with 68p target... or was it 63p?

so... first we get rns that solg have basically given the chinese a seat in our boardroom with non exec appointments.

then we get news we've signed an mou on green energy with brazilian / ecuaodr based firm. you'd think the chinese would be a tad upset at this but who knows what's going on. then barrick name mentioned and i can't see how that warms the ****les of the chinese either.

i wonder if it is possible that we've actualy signed a regionals deal with barrick?? say... 30 odd licence blocks go to barrick and we get something in exchange or a free carry on $100m spend for a retained % holding??

eitherway... it's suddenly got very active in ecuador considering the mining cadestre is still closed.

Would be interesting if Porvenir was included. That would require at least $100m extra spend to get to DFS. Likely a $400m+ capex project but one that would deliver handsome profits due to smaller mine scale and faster pay back.

We know the chinese like Porvenir as it sits within easy reach of their existing infrastructure in south.

Certainly alot of activity around Ecuador right now and some major miners might be feeling left out especially when Gov incentives make the mines more attractive than the likes of Chile and Brazil which have both increased taxes over last few years.

Guess we'll fine out but pretty clear why he went in first in place.

$4.8bln is a huge figure when you consider that Ecuador mining is still very much small scale event with Chinese in South.

The best plan of all would be to get the monkey ooff our backs by simply splitting the business into two parts. We've been over this many times but the reality is, the market has not allocated much value to ENSA and zero to the regionals. You've got Gina R spending $120m over 10 years on a number of blocks... then there's Rio and Barrick plus BHP. All have some licence blocks but they are years and years away from getting to a position that ENSA are in right now.

I really can't understand why Bob and co won't do a spin off of the regionals. It should have been done last year. We already operate the business on an ENSA and non ENSA basis. All Royalty deals are ring fenced to ENSA. Not regionals.

What value would be placed on the regionals x 50 blocks with $50m raised in a newly floated spin off?? It has to be worth at least $150m if the assumption is there is at least 4 to 5 Tier 1 opportunities in there.

Then you have ENSA. That can just tick along in background and any delay games by the interested parties effects very little in the new exploration company. In time the exploration spin off could be worth more than ENSA if the latter drags on for whatever reason.

At the moment, it's the weight of the Tier1 project and the finance required that has basically reduced our share price to 5p and in process mothballed everything else. We've become a zombie company going no where fast.

Get a regionals spin off and new listed entity out there and SOLG shareholders can decide whether to sell out of that and bank some cash or to hold those new shares and see the fruits of some great holes drilled over the coming months and poss find another Alpala.

Ironically, what they should have done with the merger was to do a reverse takeover and put SOLG's 85% ENSA into CGP's 15% holding shell. That would have placed ENSA 100% in CGP listed in toronto with SOLG shareholders owning a respective stake in that business (shares etc). Then the remaining SOLG business listed on LSE and Toronto could have been the regionals. Trouble is, I suspect the off loading of ENSA (85%) was not workable due to the prime asset rule eg ... can't sell off your main asset as need to have offer for full business entity first.

Anyway... for now... we a management team that can't even get an SR story concluded and out to the market so any ideas of smart thinking plans like regional spin offs looks well past them.

BBG, unfortunately decision/news time was expected by the market last year when the sp was tip toeing around the 18p level. As the SR saga dragged on, and as the cash pile dropped, the market simply replied with a negative slant and here we are at 6p with the lowest cash pile I think SOLG has had in last 5 years or more... lowest sp... lowest sentiment.... the list goes on.

Why oh why has Bob left it so late?

The bases hardly look loaded and hitting a home run from here is much harder now. He needs to swing and swing hard.

Any update would be welcome. The most important being capital raised to continue in business. That's all the market is interested in right now.

Cash pile is sub $10m now .. likely around $8.5m. The accounts need to be officially signed off by end of this month. Technical report requiredas well. Basically.... they have 3 weeks to confirm everything and as per usual it's all 'last minute.com' with SOLG.

Why of why can't they be more organised? If they were, then we'd probably be around 12p levels now rather than 6p or 5p.

Bob has thrown the sp to the wolves and invited 'creep' ownership. Perhaps he's trying to flush out pi's and replace them with smarter hands?

SOLG most certainly is NOT aligned with PoG or copper pricing.

75m shares got rinsed at 6p on Friday, so that's the likely reason assuming there's some 'loose ends' to rinse through.

Volume is up but generally relative to the old 16p+ days if using actual cash sums involved. 10m shares at 6p today not much different to 3.3m shares at 18p not long ago which was the norm.

75m in one day was pretty large regardless of settlement price.
