I think there's some real credibility to this especially when it comes to 'risk' in Ecuador. I did say a while ago that the Chinese have already been producing in Ecuador through two government changes (since 2019) and with the FTD history deal signed recently, they clearly have a different view on Ecuador to some of the more negative plaudits out there.

There is a clear opportunity for those that are prepared to take the risk on Ecuador to pitch a bid at a time when likes of BHP might prefer to see political bias unfold or situations calm down etc.

In summary... now really is the time to make a move on SOLG as counter offers might be more subdued with political shenanigans underway.

I have a sneaky feeling that a sale of 'ENSA only' might be the play here with newco taking up all the other licences or a selection and then off we go exploring again but possibly with partners involved this tome and reduced interests blocks. New website due by end of the month according to Scott I believe. I wonder if that's going to involve the new proposed structure and plan forwards. Seems odd to update a website when there's not much to say that's different from last version... unless the changes are quite significant????

It's not unusual to see multiple chinese companies involved. Weird really as you'd think they are all essentially under one communist brand!

Big volume on TSX by their standards 377k up 10%+. Could be a million volume traded over there today.

A rush to get a deal done before Politics / elections get underway and muddy the waters. Sign and sealed before Lasso leaves?? Who knows. But Tier1 assets do not gather dust on shelves.

Trading on SOLG been very interesting over the last month. Something brewing for sure.

Volume has been very good of late with averages near 4 to 5m daily which has been a surprise considering that SOLG was doing around 1m per day when news was absent and drifting.

We've seen days like this before whereby you get virtually zero trades and then suddenly AT's kick in and 1m volume appears or slow all day and then a 10m block trade gets printed after close.

I think it's important to look at the average volume over a 30 day period rather than just a comment on first 2 hours of trading day.

The 30 day average volume 'says' the opposite to what you are implying.

Last month or so we've seen decent volume with main II action being filled by mm's at around 16.8p/17p levels. These levels virtually identical to the pricing on the Chinese equity placement last year but also not far from CGP post merger value.

Blackrock UK fund look like they have fully sold out. However, Blackrocks other funds (non UK based) have started to buy stock based on Morningstar data. Fidelity appear to be the main sellers at present/providers of stock to the mm's.

I think the pricing being aligned with the chinese equity placing is uncanny and might suggest the Chinese are happily to add at these levels. And why not? They took a decent wedge at same level not long ago.

I get the distinct feeling that the mm's seem very happy and content with the 16.8p/17p level. The drops to the mid 15' or low 16's seems for pi's only lol!

Very much back in demand.... equity was 84p+ when bonds last traded over 70. Equity due catch up.

Addicknt, Bozi has for sometime not favoured SOLG. So you want found a positive word comes easily from him. However, jog over to EEE or OBD or a few others and you'll see that he's far more capable seeing through the poor performance of those companies. Despite the sagging share prices, he's very positive.

He really does pick 'em! I guess you have to be invested to see the positives lol!

Still good to see investors that have sold out like orpherncopper and sharketmare telling all the other LTH's (and there are bucket loads of us) that we are not going to see or hear anything until end of the year and everything is bad or poor with SOLG.

Meanwhile in the real world, SOLG continues to progress the stunning Tier 1 copper / Gold mine which is one of if not the greatest discovery in last decade.

Forget the noise, the kids and bitter past holders... Alpala is stunning in every way. Everyone knows it. Tier1 assets NEVER end up gathering dust on a shelf. They ALWAYS make it to production. Why? Because there's so much money in it for the big boys and demand for metals is set to surge as supplies are being depleted everyday now and new mines rare as hen teeth.

Looking like we might see some fanfare around Ecuador mining conference on June 12th. Like I said... Ecuador needs the jobs and revenue. FWIIW... I think there's a real opportunity here for a number of parties involved with mining to get deals and red tape done/secured before the political games commence during elections in 3 to 4 months time. I genuinely think Lasso 'was' keen to build on his weak popularity rating and as such was avoiding any contentious mining approvals in a hope to appease some of the lefties and eco warriors. But now he's on his way out and approvals mean diddly squat... he may as well get all the paper work through that gives mining sector a serious boost. Once written in law... it's very very hard to overturn or change even if the new party involved make campaign promises of limited mining. The way things are going, Ecuador could end up with around 200 licences being canned and the existing approved licences of which there are about 20 in total (or could be less now) will be the only approved mining projects in the entire country. And the best bit... SOLG might own the lions share.

Only one way a super major is going to get a proper foothold in Ecuador... and that's through buying SOLG. There are no other companies that offer what they need. Lundin are firmly in bed with chinese. Solaris some way off being a good investment. The window of opportunity is closing so I think we'll see SOLG in demand over the next 3 months.

Yes the chinese translation is a fun one especially as bulk of chinese speak perfect English with many of the well off kids being schooled here in your very own Blighty .... 150,000 chinese kids were private schooled in UK last year.

Lets not go down the CGP yellow brick road of 'lost in translation'... I think they struggled with Mather's version of SOLG's English contract lol!

Bonds continue to do well in Frankfurt - now above 69. Last time bonds were at above 70 was after $13bln contract new and PFC sp was 84p+.

My guess is if the shorters stopped fecking about then real price would be near mid 80's again.

SharketMare, I hope for your sake (as you are no longer invested here) that nothing does happen until Q3/Q4. If something happens before then, then I guess you miss out. Personally, I think expect the unexpected here as that's how these things have normally unfolded across other companies that have seen bids. They tend to happen when you least expect it.

May I ask where you've moved all your SOLG cash to? Or have you exited the market completely at this time?

Ecuador CGS event on June 12th and SOLG presenting/present as are BHP and others. I don't think we'll find too much out but based on Government discussions etc I would expect SOLG to be quite positive about Alpala being developed as that's what these events want to hear. Ecuador struggling like other countries to manage cost of living rises and so on. Fuel prices sky high. It's tough times out there. Most would jump for joy at the idea of a decent salary mining job for the next 30 years. It's just a few lefties and eco warriors with self interests (let's not hide the fact they are knocking cocaine out of those lovely green hills and being paid for it lol!) and a past disgraced president that are causing Ecuador political chess at the moment.

It's about time Ecuador grew up and started acting like a nation that wants to do business with the world that doesn't involve white powder.

According to Morningstar, some of the Blackrock funds/holdings have cleared out so around 17m sold. Mainly UK based or UK focused funds. Blackrock still have a fund holding around 14.5m shares but that fund seems to be 'holding'.

Considering Blackrock were at around 100m shares not long ago, it's good to se them cleared out now. They may just sit on the last 14.5m fund.

They were heavy sellers of Wood Group at around 110p levels just before a bid arrived by Apollo for 230p a share lol! So clearly Blackrock get it woefully wrong on many occasions. That said, the Apollo deal did not complete and Wood Group is back at 130's or 140's. Lots of other examples out there of Blackrock selling out before takeover offers. Anyone would think it's a strategy of theirs lol! For whom I wonder?

The bonds have firmed up and look solid and back in demand which suggests that the market is beginning to believe PFC is over the worst.

As an example, when the bonds last trading at near todays levels ($69) it was Nov 13th 2022 and the share price back then was 127p!

Equities do have some correlation with Bonds and I've not seen such a wide gap on valuation basis for sometime. So either the bonds need to drop or the equities are due a run back toward 90's and 100p+ levels. I'm forecasting the latter. H2 will see sizeable contract wins for PFC and whilst markets in general look a bit lousy... PFC is already priced at levels where the market thought a debt default on covenants likely. That's not going happen now.

Hopefully that's the last of BR. I said the same last month and they managed to still have 20m shares left.

Looks like the bulk of these larger II deals are being done in or around the 17p. Scott's options were at 17p and we know the Chinese took 5%+ at around the same price.

Seems like 17p level is the 'floor' from which most seem happy building big stakes. Does that suggest a 34p or 51p sale price? 1 or 2 bagger?
