A stock buyback will only work if they get enough shares to actually buy back, they cannot rely on retail investors to give their shares, this must come from major holders of the company that see a value in selling their shares.

The problem with using the word 'inflation' is that it is very much like 'GDP', all BS!!

The real figure people need to be concerned with is 'cost of living'. This is a direct impact on people's life. No point saying inflation is 2/5/7%, when in fact the real cost to people is closer to 20-50% increase in everyday costs.

@Sully, on a side note, heatpumps really do work.

But, as you rightly pointed out, retro-fitting does not. Our houses here nearly all have underfloor heating and heat pumps, works really well. These have been built from ground up with that in mind and external insulation was 15 cm, but new builds have to have 25 cm.
