So it seems the constant 'banking turbulence' may be with us for a few more weeks/months.
Just got an email from Credit Suisse confirming that the UBS takeover/ merger will not happen until the end of 2023.
So, although the news saw it as good news, it would also explain why markets are jittery.
CS is still losing money day in day out, it has been poorly managed, but it has at least been consistent in that regard!!?
I have an 'invite' to the webcast on Tuesday at 08.00, this will apparently let us know the lay of teh land and how they will be going forward.
I think the damage has been done, so I think I will pass on that one and maybe book a prostate examination, which seems more pleasant at this point. (I was going to say more comfortable, but perhaps wrong choice of word?)

So our markets are down, the US markets are up, the NASDAQ, S&P and Dow are up, as are travel stocks.
We followed them down yesterday and go further down today, even after BoE said unlikely to go in to a 'technical' recession, and possibly last of the rate rises.. for this year.
Now all we need is that solar flare to burn the ozone and let the planet erupt into a ball of flame as it spins through our galaxy on the way to hell...

Soyou know that FED will increase rates, not take a pause, as will the BoE, 'cos sheep always follow the shepherd.
That mystical 2% inflation that Hunt and Jed Powell want for this year is about as likely as this sp hitting 200 this year.

I managed to buy early this morning on a separate account, just sold, made £0.103 per share. Not into day trading but thought why not?
That will pay for the Easter holiday...

I've been watching CS price take a huge drop this morning (60+%) and UBS -13%, now CS is -50% and UBS is +5%.
This is down to the reaction of the markets, perhaps seeing things stabilising due to government backing these banks?
What happens this week will see it go up and turn positive or we may see smaller banks start crumbling and take advantage of government bailouts.
I would like to think this is the positive news the markets have been looking for, but logic never impacted the MM.

What a week! I saw Euronews was reporting that life in Russia has all but settled down and people are just going about as normal, business is good and things returning to normal. Largely unaffected by the actions to the East.
Cannot say the say for the rest of Europe though, things look to get worse before they are better.
I heard about the incident in Rostov also, could have been anything.
The next hurdle will be Xi visiting with Putin, that is also affecting the market but not too much about that, so it must be a media blackout so as to not make things worse.
Last week was mostly about, 'shoulda coulda', I feel most investors feel the same.

Meraviglioso, you may well be right on that one. DB have been in trouble the last several years for doing 'stuff' that they should not have been.

So it seems the SNB guarantee has not helped the Swiss arm of CS, down nearly 10% today and the US arm is down 5% on opening, despite US banks bailing out their own.
There is something else that will be leaked out soon I suspect.
