Debt isn't the problem per se, but going from net cash to $4.7bn net debt just to be FCF neutral, with an $80 Brent assumption is a problem...

FCF has more than halved since 2022, so the share price collapse from 450-500p to 220p now doesn't look quite as crazy as some are claiming.

No mention of course of this supposedly game-changing acquisition being FCF neutral and the now $4.2bn net debt position. FCF forecasts were also made on $80 Brent...It's a stinker hence the sell-off.

Correct PGee, the most logical explanation for the share price collapse is an international conspiracy to steal retail investors' shares.

Not the poor operating performance, material production decline, non-existent comms, botched M&A, terrible management and the continued two fingers to shareholders.

It's been dismantled a lot more than the other miners. The market already applied a discount up to and after US election based on the fear of tariffs. Thus far, the tariffs are less than expected yet it's continually sold off.

Glencore may well be taken over, but it will taken further down for a lowball offer first. Doubt we'll see anything like 500p+ bids, probably be lucky to get 400p at this rate.

😂 Volume was 3.2m and far from lowest of the year. The buy/sell differentiation here is just indicative depending on whether traded price was closer to bid/ask. Every buy is a sell and every sell is a buy...

Every time FXPO is seemingly off to the races, it pulls back, -50% on 4m volume and -20% on 1.5m volume recently. So the whole "blink and you'll miss it" selling line is looking a bit tired now.

Whether this is johnny-come-latelys wanting in at a lower price, or investors selling every rip because they've been burnt before, I'm not sure yet...

I think anything other than a clear pivot away from renewables, a push for non-core asset disposals to reduce debt and or return cash to shareholders plus a divi increase (challenging I know with current oil price) will result in a sell-off.

Armani, a potential takeover doesn't mean BP cruises up to 500p+. More likely, the share price is dismantled to a lower price level first, in preparation for a lowball bid.

JMAX we've already had the Q4 update, it was much improved apart from the forward production guidance hence we're still stuck in the 700s.

Next Tuesday is the big day as it's FY24 prelims...
