You can see why so many bail the day before it goes ex. Unless there's a strong finish it's rarely, if ever, worth holding.

The buy/sell differentiation on here is simply indicative, depending on whether the last traded price was closer to the bid or ask. I wouldn't read much (or anything) into it.

You're not missing anything...Investors hold for the divis and a lot of traders sell before it goes ex.

FTSE stocks often have a nasty habit of falling by more than the divi, hence a lot of traders sell the day before and then buy back in when it goes ex. Horses for courses.
