Minister Agio Pereira and Steve Bracks discussed the next steps for the Greater Sunrise project. October 21 2024
Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Timor-Leste's Interlocutor have discussed the stages for the Greater Sunrise project on Monday, October 21, 2024, in a video conference meeting with the Australian Special Representative for the Greater Sunrise project, Steve Bracks.
The meeting aimed to discuss the current situation, share information and ideas for the joint work between Timor-Leste and Australia for the development of the Greater Sunrise project. The next stages were also discussed, with the objective of maximizing the benefits of the project for both countries. During the video conference Minister Agio Pereira share his recent observations petroleum and gas sector and economic diversification during his visit to Brunei Darussalam with Steve Bracks. Steve Bracks
expressed a commitment to maintaining close collaboration with Timor-Leste in the development of the Greater Sunrise project, and the conceptual study of the project, which began in April 2024, led by Australian Wood Company. The objective of the study is to identify the best options for the development, processing, and commercialization of gas from the Greater Sunrise Field.
