The Government started public consultation on the Zumai-natarbora road project for the community. Wednesday April 9th. 2025.
His Excellency the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Gastao de Sousa, said that the constitutional government is committed to drawing the pipeline from the Greater Sunrise field and that the government assumes the creation of basic infrastructure such as Suai Supply Base, Auto Road and other infrastructure in order of His Excellency Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao that 2025 is the year of implementation. The road is an important component of the Tasi Mane project which is an integrated plan to develop the economy, create jobs through the development of the Greater Sunrise field. The community's contribution is to offer their property, to ensure that the road project is a pre-reasoning condition for the pipeline to come to Timor-Leste.
According to TIMOR GAP's presentation, self-building will have a direct impact by offering jobs between two to five thousand and indirect impacts on other sectors such as restaurants, transportation, accommodation, business opportunities, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, tourism, the creation of new cities ano other industries that will involve local companies, including helping Timorese to gain new competencies.
