Major components of Timor-Leste's south coast infrastructure project have been released to market, presenting opportunities for Australian businesses in the engineering, design, civil, infrastructure and construction sectors.

Government of Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has invited international and Timorese companies to submit proposals for the Suai Supply Base and Zumalai-Natarbora Highway.

The projects seek to catalyze a network of new logistics, service and supply hubs on Timor-Leste's southern coastline to support a growing number of onshore and offshore exploration and development projects.

They are key components of a multi-phase major strategic infrastructure initiative aimed at establishing industrial hubs along a 155km highway corridor on Timor-Leste's south coast.

The first invitation proposes the design, build and finance of an energy industry supply base and service centre, based in Suai.

The Suai Supply Base is designated to support mini-shore bases, warehouses and up to 1000 hectares for industrial, manufacturing and support services.

A pre-proposal meeting for the Suai Supply Base will take place on 28 April 2025 followed by a site visit for interested parties on 30 April 2025.

The second invitation includes the design, build and finance of Zumalai-Natarbora Highway, a key section of the 155 km highway linking the Suai Supply Base to roads linking the northern and southern districts of Timor-Leste.

Pre-bid inspections and meetings are mandatory in some cases, so suggestion companies read carefully the requirements in each invitation for proposals.

Timor-Leste's $65B Gas Deal: Woodside Energy & Osaka Gas Lead Greater Sunrise Project.

East Timor’s energy future is looking bright, with the development of the Greater Sunrise natural gas field. This key project, with 5.1 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves 💥, is essential for boosting the nation’s economy and securing vital revenue.

President José Ramos-Horta has recently confirmed that East Timor will prioritise Australia’s Woodside Energy and Japan's Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. as partners for the project, leaving behind offers from China and Kuwait. 🇦🇺 🇯🇵 This decision ensures strong, trusted partnerships in the Pacific region.

However, the project has faced delays due to disagreements over the location of the LNG plant 🏗️. While Woodside and Osaka Gas suggest piping the gas to Darwin (Australia), Timor-Leste advocates for building the plant within its borders, which would boost the local economy and create jobs.

The stakes are high—$65 billion in potential revenue 💰—which could greatly enhance Timor-Leste's economic growth 🌱. Alongside the gas project, the country is exploring onshore gas and gold mining ventures in collaboration with Australian companies 💎.

Ramos-Horta also mentioned that Timor-Leste is ready to finance the LNG plant independently, showcasing its commitment to a sustainable and thriving energy future 🔋.

I have a crush on Andy. I love those interviews. Probably not a recommended investment strategy.

Silverlight, I agree with a lot of that. Particularly on share price issues etc. However, I was on Telegram for a short period. I quit but I don’t recognise your description of it being full of nutters. Mostly good people. As regards, AB. IMO, he’s delivered plenty so far. Hugely impressive. Bringing a small company to the point of drilling a large offshore block. No mean feat. Clearly highly respect amongst his peers. I believe you can deliver judgement on a CEO prior to final results. A good CEO can fail and fail badly at the final hurdle. There are many things beyond his control and he cannot and does not guarantee success. We know the risks but I believe we’re in good hands. He’s not the messiah but he’s a very impressive boy. Early days.

The share price should wake up. The project is moving. I needed this. Sit back and enjoy.

The funding must be agreed. This is great news.

Nothing guaranteed and I would be surprised if there isn’t a delay but better than we have terminated our funding talks with……. Permit is tricky. Might be holding up the entire project. Q2 is going to be touch and go. Project is moving forward.

Sunda Energy is advancing along timeline to drill Chuditch well @BaronOilplc #AIM #SNDA. Sunda Energy PLC (AIM:SNDA) told investors it has submitted environmental documentation to the Timor-Leste’s oil and gas regulator for the Chuditch-2 appraisal well.

This starts the clock-ticking on a 14-day consultation period, before final documents are submitted and a drill permit can be awarded.

The environmental documents include findings from an environmental baseline survey announced in January.

The Government started public consultation on the Zumai-natarbora road project for the community. Wednesday April 9th. 2025.

His Excellency the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Gastao de Sousa, said that the constitutional government is committed to drawing the pipeline from the Greater Sunrise field and that the government assumes the creation of basic infrastructure such as Suai Supply Base, Auto Road and other infrastructure in order of His Excellency Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao that 2025 is the year of implementation. The road is an important component of the Tasi Mane project which is an integrated plan to develop the economy, create jobs through the development of the Greater Sunrise field. The community's contribution is to offer their property, to ensure that the road project is a pre-reasoning condition for the pipeline to come to Timor-Leste.

According to TIMOR GAP's presentation, self-building will have a direct impact by offering jobs between two to five thousand and indirect impacts on other sectors such as restaurants, transportation, accommodation, business opportunities, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, tourism, the creation of new cities ano other industries that will involve local companies, including helping Timorese to gain new competencies.

Thanks Eddie. I am talking more about a LinkedIn/ X post from Sunda simply restating the company plans to drill Chuditch in Q2. That might sound obvious to some because we know it anyway but when it appears to be slipping away and there’s a slump in the share price and lots of negative sentiment, it would have been useful. I try and avoid emails. I never ask about current operational matters. He’s busy and I don’t think we should be constantly contacting him. Anyway, it’s helpful to hear this.
