Isn't the simple point here that the stats show the vast majority of cases settle. That's an undisputed fact and it takes account of cases of all different kinds. The reason cases (of all kinds) generally settle is the weight of litigation risk on both sides, and hence, the pressure to compromise before trial. The same factors are present here. For both sides, nothing is guaranteed and so like every other case it is more likely to settle than not.

One final observation, especially to those who believe Samsung is solely intent on dragging things out for as long as possible, at all costs. Samsung did not delay its petition to PTAB, or submission of its appeal, so the evidence speaks otherwise.

TIt is sealed so when trying to buy it, the site says " his document is sealed or restricted, and cannot be downloaded. You will NOT be charged."

This happened twice before and I WAS charged each time. Has that happened to anyone else?

Thanks LordWM - just being slightly pedantic, he says one material is production ready / signed off for ISO standards, and the other should have reached that stage for Dec 2022. We don't know for sure that Nanoco's QD's have been used in any prototype products but that is the implication.

Steak and ale the key advantages of an out of court settlement are 1) No risk of failure at trial (and on appeal); and 2) Nancoo gets paid quicker.

The talk here is that such an outcome would be a disappointment. I fundamentally disagree. The board will only accept a settlement offer which is in the interests of shareholders, and that will be having regard to the top legal advice it is receiving.

I appreciate the link Troublesome but believe me the guys on Nanoco's side are operating on a level which is light years ahead of that outfit who appear to handle relatively routine settlement terms for employment exits. I believe it is requirement of litigation the Texas courts that one has local counsel on board (and who will no doubt be used like NigWitty says for local filings etc..), and that we were told about this quite a long way back. I read nothing into it at all.

Ps. There have been loads more filings - seems to be evidential stuff mainly.

For balance, yes I agree with you intrusive and Nigwitty. It saved me posting the same. 'Settlement lawyer' is an imaginary concept, and if the role existed not something that would require amendment of the court record. Mintz will be advising on any settlement talks as and when they happen, if they do occurr at all

We have different views and you've already said you see it as pointless my willingness to undertsand the case, weigh up the arguments, and acquire knowledge. To me that shows in your posting as I can see you show little interest in understanding the case. I do find this very surprising though because it is what you are invested in. I am perfectly able to keep up with the legal arguments being deployed and that has paid me handsomely so far
