RE: AAOG / zen24 Dec 2019 09:32
Under the right terms and conditions, a new license from SNPC and a clean slate over outstanding disputes and riddance of the ISA, the right deal here could be highly beneficial.
Financing aside, the early indications from the 103well were very encouraging. The depth/capacity/ability of SMP rig left the bottom hole unstable. The real reasons are unknown and it could of course be the formation as opposed to rig issues. However, I mentioned on the aaog board at the time the problems started that they should just bite the bullet and sidetrack the issues but they felled about with multiple pseudo cpr reports and then got into argument with the rig provider etc and almost no further ops progress made for more than half a year. It is of course a high risk, but the high quality oil with no water content is a nice carrot.
Anyhow, Zen have walked away from other deals that proved to be not the right deal, so we shall see. Aaog may just get their day in court and recover the costs from the drillers, receive payment from the govt and be granted a new license for free. One every never knows.
