So, do they have a positive spin on the Zen deal?

A few weeks = anything between 6 and 120. Rig contract, well design, equipment, additional equipment that was forgotten, visas for personnel, brown envelopes, permit, license, payments, funding, checking and commissioning all equipment, especially any legacy items from anglo, brown envelopes, mud, waste license, power supply, brown envelopes, more funding. This time next year if all goes to plan. They may as well go for a water injection permit and have a go at 101/102 concurrently.
I have again asked Andrea for an official update on current Azer operations today as I am sure many other are asking the same. I would be happy to see the rig monster in place and ready to hit the start button at least.

OK, I'm getting old, but once upon a long time ago I saw a presentation by W C. He stood at the lectern in front of a bunch of a coupla hundred eager university students ready to listen to his inspirational account of how he ran things in the war dept. He waited for silence, looked around the audience into the eyes of many of the students and said in that voice of his "Never!.....give up" he left the lectern, speech lasted 5 seconds, it was one of the most influential moments of my life.

There is no peace in my little hut I can assure you!. DRC was in fact DRC before it was Zaire (1970-71 ish), but in 1974 it was Zaire.

Its been 2 years. They should have just run a hose from it straight into a storage tank.(not a serious comment of course, but metaphorically speaking). Hellish frustrating. Zardab is/may be still on the hit list for Zen. Plan was to drill adjacent well to tap into this gusher. Maybe they should be sent this video in case they have forgotten all about it!. Zardab is not even included in the CPR, a couple of drills there, some logging and CPR for it would not be a waste of money imv.

I realised that the plan was to store production and sell at spot price once they had sufficient, but at present, unless there is anything coming from 38, they are not adding anything to whatever is in store--that was my point--perhaps not well explained by me at the time. Also, there has not so far as I can tell been any hint of sales mentioned in comms, therefore perhaps not sufficient oil stored to make selling it worthwhile.
Anyhow, time is ticking here and the newsflow has to start at some point. Each day is another one closer to whatever the news may be. I still have some of these in my SIPP and waiting with baited breath for a steady flow rate in excess of 300bbls a day from 38 and much the same from 16, confirmation of drilling at 51 and a 3d interpretation update. All should be revealed by end of Q1. 10p plus would be ok for starters.
Why 51? its next door to 38 and as 38 is 'successful' why move elsewhere and then come back again later, it is also Logistically sensible. Indications from 38 were at the time positive and 51 was brought back in to the equation as a result of it.

There was certainly euphoria and some wild estimations of untold riches over at AAOG a year ago. One always has to be cautious, read between lines and try to get to the meanings of phrases used in rns's. it is a minefield, but In all fairness, I believe that the information given by DS was based upon information provided to him at the time and were of course ambitious expressions of 'what it could be' as opposed to what it actually is. They fessed up to the downhole problems once they entered to top of the djeno due to poor performance of the rig and then cement problems--you could blame DS for that I s'pose, for taking what was probably either the cheap option or the only rig available in short notice at the time. It would have p'd off SNPC to some extent for not using thier subsidiary company and rig, and then its failure would have justified them being p'd off. Since then, the talk of rig contracts, funding issues and generally kicking the can down the road have left either a golden opportunity for someone, or a massive white elephant. Time will tell, but being in general a half full type of person, I think there will be a good result, but it wont be overnight as Zen are the slowest of the slow. I would like to see collaboration with previous AAOG directors and ops personnel to share the lessons learned and provide guidance to Zen, which in turn would at least give something back to Anglo via there % shareholding.

We still need firming up with the ops status in azer and without wishing to state the bl**dy obvious, get some more oil out of the ground and prove at least a modicum of competence in the ops team.
Its so frustrating that they have the ops team under the guise of Zenith Aran with some allegedly seasoned drilling personnel, the clunky but capable rig and a very large proven asset but incapable of increasing production. AC is no less frustrated with he performance. He used the words 'underwhelming' in one message when discussing the activity in Azer.

Many thanks Bazza. I have been keeping an lazy eye on this for some time, I like the modus operandi so to speak with the corporate social responsibility and the generally slowly slowly approach. Still one to keep watching for the moment. Tks again
