..."this will continue till end of July when the loaned shares return unless they are being returned early.."
That's what you'd expect. But then, AZ very generously introduced (disclosed 'after the event', 5 months later) an unusual twist, apart from the option you've noted of prepayment : the lenders can return security in the form of cash , rather than shares.......
But what's the 'cash equivalent', I hear you ask ? Well, it doesn't have to be the current market s/p, because in another 'first' , we were casually informed - in the initial RNS - of said 'cash equivalent 'value at the outset :
b) Nature of the Transaction Pledge of shares for loan security AT MARKET PRICE
------------------------------- -----------------------------------------
c) Price(s) and volume(s) Price(s) Volume(s) of shares pledged
0.075 pence 1,615,253,000
0,09 pence 0.07617
pence 778,571,429
3,500,000,000
