Just to try and help on a few points regarding the licence, there are two types of licence's in Myanmar ..The first of these is the mobile banking license which are owned by a bank .A mobile money business signs up with the bank and then operates under their umbrella .
The second is the mobile financial services licence which Mysq are applying for .This type of licence allows a business to operate independently and so far only three of these have been awarded to Wave Money ,Ok Dollar and M-Pitsean From what information I can find this type of licence allows larger transactions and gives the business the right to operate a remittance channel in and out of Myanmar . The cost of a licence is approximately£1,600 but a stipulation when applying is that the business must have £1,600,000 set aside in a separate account as security.
According to the Central Bank of Myanmar they aim to process application's within 90 day's ,so if mysq put the application in at the same time as the 20/6/18 rns we are now halfway through that period .
Regarding the remittance channel to Singapore Mysq have signed up with Ok Dollar who will operate the Myanmar end of the channel as they already have a Mfs licence and Uber Remit will operate the Singapore end .Once the Mfs licence has been successfully obtained Mysq will be able to set up further remittance channels with Uber Remit but there will be no need to partner with a local player ,
