Has anybody taken a look at Seattle based Immunexpress who Novacyt are partnered with .Over the last 3/4 year's Primer Design have developed several assay's for them.They specialise in test's for sepsis and have just been awarded a grant to help them finalize the development of their latest test and get it through FDA emergency approval . It appears considerable number's of seriously ill covid19 patient's develop sepsis and early and accurate diagnosis is critical. My question is do Novacyt just get paid for the development work or could there possibly be a royalty attached ?

B2HS2L, I agree the front page does say it test's for a total of 20 viral and bacterial infections. However if you download the info sheet this show's 30 infections that are tested for. Still not up to the 37 we're looking for. It seems strange that Novacyt don't want to put a company name forward.

John-james ,in answer to your question Novacyt acquired Primer Design on 12/05/16 for £9.6 million .Four year's on that acquisition is proving a really worthy move.

From what I can find out the following organisation's have Covid-19 test supply contract's with several of the larger producers.
WHO. -Thermofisher and BGI
UNICEF-Roche and Thermofisher
Global Fund -CEPHEID and Abbott
These three organisation's have have formed a procurement model which seems to be constrained by the fact that the test manufacturers can't supply any extra kits such is the demand elsewhere. Now that Novacyt have the capability to produce 10,000,000 kit's a month they have a good opportunity of landing a regular contract.

Did anybody take a look at the link to that Indian website I posted last night . The PalmQ device device seems identical to the genesig q16.
Regarding current testing I see the the Chinese have finally revealed how many test's they have completed since the start of the pandemic 90 Million

From the handbook that goes with the new Exsig Max reagent I see it has been optimised to work on the Kingfisher Flex Magnetic Particle Processor . Thermofisher the manufacturer of this device currently supply large number's of test's to the UK gov and their equipment is widely used in the UK labs. Look's very much like there could be order's to support the large automated UK lab's that were set up .

At the beginning of the month the company were tweeting that they had the capacity to produce 10,000,000 tests a month and were offering same day dispatch if you ordered before 1 o'clock. Since then the same day dispatch has been removed from the Novacyt website ,a good sign that they are very busy.

Currently the Optigene lamp test using swabs is 32 day's into a 6 week trial with the NHS , so news on that front isn't far off. The fact that Southampton University are going to include the lamp test as part of their 4 week saliva test trial indicates that the original trial has been going well. All we know is the test was designed utilizing the Primer Design covid19 test , we'll just have to wait a bit longer to find out what this means to Novacyt.

Currently a PCR test takes around 90minutes to run through all it's cycles and provide a result . Using the the Exsig Direct to extract a RNA sample beforehand removes numerous cycles from the PCR process and has the potential to bring the actual PCR run time down to nearer 45 minutes+ the direct extraction time .For a lab processing thousands of test's a day this represents a significant saving in time .

I posted the other day that Novacyt had put the price of the genesig q16 PCR device up from £5,5000 to £6,500 . Looking on the US Biological website they are now selling them on for $13,143 ,up from the mid $8,000 dollar's the other week .The fact that they are now able to put on a 55% mark up from the UK price indicates there is a strong demand for this highly portable product.
