I see they are going to be running trials at the Milton Keynes mega lab using some ultra high throughput PCR machine's. At the same time they are going to be proving them up on saliva samples as well as swab's.

The running of this facility is now been taken over by Charles River laboratories who first started out in Boston USA. Well worth a look at their website and what they do.

I see the the weekly testing of all staff and monthly testing of resident's in care home's is now going to be rolled out by 07/09/20 .There are estimated to be nearly 2,000,000 staff and resident's in UK care homes ,which means a huge amount of testing. Even more if a policy of testing visitors is also introduced .
Novacyt are now 12 day's into the trial of their npt test in care homes and it is scheduled to last until later this month. This test is already in use in NHS settings and is more than equal to the test's that were announced yesterday. Let's see what the end of the month brings on this front and remember the two contract's that were awarded on sunday are reported to be worth £161,000,000 .

Voleon opened their short the day after the news of the care homes trials was released in the papers. It very much looks like they see the forty day trial as a window of opportunity before news arrives. They then increased their position on Wednesday and Thursday after the share price had initially risen and then started to retrace following the r+d rns . Their take on this rns is probably that they see these projects as potential earners in the autumn when they are launched and not adding value to the company until then.
What they don't seem to be taking into consideration is the worsening global situation with the spread of covid19 ( nearly 300,000 cases a day) and the fact that Novacyt has a gold standard PCR test which has already led to increasing sales every month since February.

Five week's ago the UK gov used the crowdicity website asking for new innovations to provide a multiple respiratory test for the forthcoming flu season . Fast forward five week's and Novacyt announce the development of such a test to be launched in September. There will be a large demand for this type of test this winter throughout the northern hemisphere.

Allah the actual NPT concept started clinical trials and validation back in June and was mentionedin the year end report 30/06/20. As Simple00 says the trial they have just started is to prove that this concept is better in the care home setting than what is presently used with a long turn round time .
Getting back to my post from earlier this evening it would appear that the DHSC is looking at ways to help some Covid-19 test producer's speed up their packing department's.

The DHSC are looking for ideas to speed up the operation at several sites were covid19 test's are packed .At the moment it is just a feasibility study , but if acted on it needs to be up and running by December at these sites .

CCK, just to add to your previous post the clinical trials of the NPT concept started some time in June .This was reported in the year end report on 30/06/20 . Probably wasn't long after the Exsig Direct was launched when they started . The fact that the government has given the go ahead to a field trial in a care homes setting speaks volumes.
Currently the UK gov has an intensive testing campaign taking place in all registered care homes .This involves weekly testing of all staff and monthly testing of resident's .Going off some 2 year old figures there are over 11,000 care homes in the UK and 400,000 plus resident's.

Should the field trial prove successful I can see Novacyt playing a significant role in the supply of Near Patient Testing for care homes. Another interesting comment from yesterday's rns was the statement that they are working on simplifying the test process with the aim to coat and stabilise biological components required for the covid19 test onto lab products such as reaction tubes .All you will have to do is complete the RNA extraction from the test sample with the Exsig Direct then add this to the reaction tube and you're good to go with the PCR test .
