Don't forget this tender notice for the National Microbiology Framework ( 2 year contract's) closes on monday ,with the actual contract's due to start on 01/02/21 .I would expect Novacy to be striving for diagnostic's and PCR equipment contract's as part of this tender .A substantial 2 year contract would really underpin Novacyt going forwards and the notice also states that it may be possible to extend contract's for a further two year's. News relating to this award should be released from mid January onwards .

Hani1, thanks for the link to testing at Manchester airport .I see in the details they are providing the option of PCR testing as well as lamp. It states that the PCR test is gold standard and used daily in the NHS. That narrows it down somewhat regarding who's test it is .

Airlineboy , the main award for Innova was published last friday ,just short of £500 000,000 .No wonder they are trying to push the lft test's in nearly every type of testing situation.

ShaunP , I've just been taking a look at that link relating to the lab's in California that Wilson63 posted earlier from Larry on twitter. Basis Diagnostics is the lab that uses Primer Design as one of it's covid19 test's .This lab was only opened in 2020 and contains the latest state of the art testing equipment ,housed in a 88,000 square foot site . From what I can see they appear to have been set up specifically for covid19 testing . The really interesting bit is the company that they are partnered with Worksite Diagnosis . They offer a work place covid19 testing service with the option's for rapid testing on site or the sample can be sent back to the lab and they also apppear to operate at a national level.

LoloS007, just to back up what you have just posted this is what it states in the contract.
Clause 34 of schedule 2 provides that the supplier shall not make any press announcements or publicise the contract in any without the prior written consent of the Authority. The supplier and the Authority recognise that the supplier needs to issue a market announcement in relation to the contract on signature and the Authority hereby consents to the supplier issuing an announcement in a form separately agreed by the parties .Such activities shall not constitute a breach of the agreement.
Novacyt were allowed to announce the contract on 05/10/20 , anything else requires written authorisation by the Authority.

ShaunP, the Cepheid Genexpert covid19 test is in the form of a cartridge which you add the sample to and then place in one of their processing systems .These processing systems come in four sizes of test capability- 1, 2, 4, and 16 way . Looking on the Find website the 16 way processor is listed at $63,000 and a test cartridge just under$20. They'll definitely be using different test's in a high throughput lab.

ShaunP , looking at what info is available the three new NHS lighthouse labs at Newcastle , Bracknell and Plymouth all seem to be aiming to come online at the beginning of 2021 . The jobs that are being offered at these sites all seem to be one year contract's till 31/12/21 with a possibility of further extension . I did find on the Plymouth NHS website that in early October they were using the Elitech covid19 test for non emergency testing .A Genexpert covid19 test (results in an hour )could only be used in emergency situation's as there was limited supply. From yesterday we learnt that Novacyt are working with a network of labs in the UK and the USA . Bletchley are going to have their work cut out finding any information from stateside.

Three more job vacancies at Novacyt posted on web recruit today . Two covid kit production technicians and a customer service administrator for processing customer orders and enquiries.

Hartlebury, I was looking through the link that Shaun posted a short while ago regarding Novacyts registration on the USA site for government contracts. If you look closely they first registered on 29/04/2019 but only chose to activate the account on the 16/11/20 , which coincidentally is the same day as the latest r+d release. Then if you look further down the page you find they are registered under the NAICS code334516 which is analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing .
From this it looks very much like they are aiming to seek out testing equipment awards over in the USA now they've increased the production 5 fold at It-Is-International.
