The Optigene contract for the supply of lamp test's and test devices run's till next Monday . Will they be getting an extension to this contract?

Oriens1, Pillars 1 and 2 are all lab based PCR test's, currently running at around 4.5 million a week. As I said earlier the info is all on the UK Covid dashboard website under daily testing.

Currently a certain amount of RNA samples are taken each day from the lighthouse labs and other labs in the testing network. These go to facilities run by the Cogconsortium who then complete the sequencing . According to this article they receive positive and negative samples in 96 sample wells from the lab's . They then have identify which are positive before they can start the sequencing.

Looking through the literature that comes with the new SNP assays that were launched this week it states they are to be used as REFLEX test's. From what I can find out this means they will be used to retest positive result's where there is a variation from the normal, ie a variant. If this is introduced at the lab's it would allow the scientist's to work out more quickly which variants are in circulation in a certain area without having to wait for news from Cogconsortium. Cogconsortium UK would still be doing all their sequencing work and looking for more new variants. Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

Voleon thought they were on a winner when they took out that short at the end of July .By the time they got out it had cost them close to £2 million.

Hatlebury, PROmate is a simplified version of the Genesig covid19 test and just detect's covid19. Winterplex on the other hand is designed to search for four different pathogens. Going back to the early summer a notice was placed on Crowdcity by the DHSC for diagnostics companies to submit ideas for a winter test to distinguish between Covid . Influenza A, Influenza B and RSV. Two months later Novacyt launched Winterplex and a month on they received an order for some of these as part of the NPT contract. The whole point of Winterplex is the need for hospital staff be able to quickly identify whether a seriously ill patient actually has covid19 or a different pathogen, thus enabling the staff to place the patient on the correct ward with the appropriate treatment. During the first wave of the pandemic there were numerous report's of people being admitted to hospital with serious respiratory complaints other than covid19. Sadly by the time they were correctly diagnosed they then went on to develop covid19 as well because of being in close proximity to the Covid patients.
Regarding PROmate I would have thought they would using these test's on patient's coming in for operation's ,those admitted with injuries and staff in critical care ward's.

Term's of the NPT contract state that invoices for good's and services provided are to be submitted on Oct15 th, Oct31st , Nov30th and Dec31st ,or the nearest working day to these dates. Payment will be made within 30 day's.
Quick question ,does anybody think Novacyt could be working on a simplified version of Winterplex ? They've successfully achieved this with PROmate for the Covid test, but I would have thought it was just as important with the Winterplex as this is supposed to be used for near patient testing ( so they can quickly identify which ward to put patient's on).

BABA, the July rns stated - Novacyts objective is to develop a system with a reduced number of workflow steps for NPT. The company plan's to use it's expertise in PCR testing to coat and stabilise the essential biological components required for it's covid19 test onto laboratory product's, such as reaction tubes. As a result the laboratory product's will be ready to use on Novacyt q16 and q32 portable instruments and will only require the addition of a small amount of patient sample to initiate the Covid test .
This development work was all part of the care homes trial which took place out of the Blizzard Institute . Novacyt now employ a clinical trial's director who is based at that institute.
