Scoobydoo321, the LFT antibody test that Novacyt brought out last week is a qualitative test which tells you a straight yes or no if you have got antibodies to covid19 in your blood sample. The next generation LFT test that they aim to launch this quarter is a quantitative test which is supposed to tell the amount of antibodies in your blood sample.
The Kantaro Covid -Seroklir antibody test you mentioned is a quantitative test ,but it is lab based ,not a LFT .

ShaunP, I don't know if you've seen this one . Norfolk and Norwich University hospital are using lamp testing for staff and aim to roll this out across the trust .

Earlier I saw on LinkedIn that the lady who used to be the Clinical Trial Data Manager for Novacyt has moved on and now works for PHG as a Policy Analyst ( Biomedical Science). PHG are a think tank that operate out of Cambridge University and they help policy makers understand how new technologies could improve healthcare and the actions needed to put innovations into practice. One for ShaunP to peruse.

So Novacyt have just launched their lft covid19 antibody test which gives the user an accurate result as to whether antibodies are present in their blood or not . Later this quarter they aim to launch a next generation version , which in my understanding will tell the level of antibodies present. The test they have just launched will be able give a straight yes or no that you have produced antibodies after a vaccination. Three months or so after you have had a second jab the next generation test can be used to monitor what levels of antibodies are still present in your bloodstream.

This notice has been placed today for an End to End Home Antibody Testing Service . They are expanding the current antibody screening and seem to be looking for one supplier to provide the lab's , test and collection service on a one year contract.

ShaunP, I didn't mention that Babson Diagnostics had been helped in their development work by partnership's with Becton D ickenson and Siemens Healthineers. Guillermo Ralmondo held a senior position with Siemens Healthineers before joining Novacyt earlier this year .
From that job I posted it looks like Novacyt are going to be optimising and reformulating across a broad spectrum of immunoassays that make up part of their range of rapid diagnostics product's and the successful job candidate must have experience with blood grouping analysis kit's and latex agglutination technologies.Plenty going on in the r+d to drive the company forwards besides covid.

ShaunP, you asked the question why did Guillermo Ralmondo like the article about Babson Diagnostics. From the information out there they have developed a next generation capillary collection device which can be used by any trained healthcare worker or pharmacy technician instead of a phlebotomist. This collects just 10% of the normal amount of blood required from a finger tip . The sample is then tested using a miniaturised assay . Result's have proved the test's to be comparable to the long established ways of testing.The companies aim is to take blood testing from a centralised setting to a decentralised setting , very similar to what Novacyt are doing in the NHS with Covid testing .

I don't know if this interim review ( mid December) of the governments spend on test and trace has been posted on the board before. Primer Design are mentioned on page 41 with £236 million attributed to the Test-New Testing Technologies contract.On page 40 it states that between November and March 2021 NHS test and trace estimates it will award a further 154 contract's (16.2 billion), but not all of this spending will occur in this financial year .In total NHS test and trace reported in November it had 325 contract's in the pipeline with a total value of £21.4 billion.

Poidster, you posted earlier about labs looking at other products in Novacyts catalogue that could be utilised .l was wondering if they had already been given some guidance on future requirements besides covid product's. Last week Novacyt posted an advert for a Senior Principal Technical Specialist Microbiology. Part of the role with this job is supporting the teams efforts to optimise and reformulate product's.This will focus on a broad spectrum of immunoassays that make up part of the range of rapid diagnostics product's.
