We could be seeing a bit of a short squeeze simply because of the new ISA allocation triggered by the new tax year.......lots of people grabbing the opportunity to load up while the price is so low

Of course it could be leaks of good news coming......

Time will tell...I am happy to hold this for the inevitible longer term recovery

60 million shares available for purchase might be a little difficult to come by when news drops.....

The scramble there is goingto be when the shorters are attempting to buy back 60 million shares and not be the last sucker left holding a short position.....

Imagine what price you would happily sell your shares......I will bet it is at a much higher level than the shorters need to buy back to stop them losing fortunes.....

since then two directors have made sizable purchase.......has not improved your attitude on this share though.....these directors purchases alone fill me with positivity for the future.

The shorters know little more than the rest of us and there are signs that they are nervous on their exposure on this stock .....they will be most anxious not to be the the last one standing when the music stops....

Yes Glowacki I was paying attention the same day Wood went down significantly PFC went up 13 %

PFC are up >6,5 % today, Woods are down (again) by 0,5 %........

Comparing Woods with PFC is not a match currently.....

Shorts have been having a field day with PFC since Novemebr and where somewhat helped by Schroders reducing their holding significantly in the same time period which helped drive the price down.....

Our losses are so far only paper based and holders like myself are pretty upbeat on the future. In any event our losses are limited by only investing what we feel comfortable in risking.

Shorts losses are potentially unlimited.....

Put simply the shorts when attacking as a group can bring a share price down but the reality is they know no more than the rest of us as to the results, the finances being solved or a potential dance partner for petrofac......to suggest they somehow know something we dont has proven to be a false narrative over and over again here....

Maybe the director believes the rumour that a takeover is coming.....??!

Had a quick look....several companies with Petrofac in the name overdue (most are filed on time and working within the rules it seems)....from the sample of the 2/3 not compliant, I noted that AA had resigned as director a long time ago, so have to ask are these Petrofac in name only and unconnected with the PLC?

I noticed that this morning as well....multiple trades the same.....very odd behaviour,,,,seen occassionally elsewhere but as an exceptional on off....not multiple events like this....is this an error with LSE or is it at the exchange?

Ivor.....never is a very long time.....dont assume it will never happen....banned in some countries and hopefully will happen here.....I am seriously considering moving all my trading to German stock exchange at some point and I guess if enough people abandoned LSE for that very reason then never would happen despite your opinion....

Also on your point 'If people avoid shorted companies they would not get burnt.' - lots of people buy into a stock which has no declared shorters and then after an unknown period that stock becomes a target for the shorts....so how is it their 'fault'?....the truth is any company can be a short target so any share bought can expose investors.....

Point is we should not need to set a sell limit to prevent our property being lent out without our express permission.....this would be a sensible compromise. Dont ban shorting but ensure that companies cannot use your shares for shorting purposes without your explicit consent and on the understanding that you also profit from the money received for use of those shares.....

There is no hope for you if you cant tell the difference between a fart and a telecoms company....
