More than 400 small boat migrants have arrived in the first two days of Labour’s returns deal, dashing claims it would be a ‘new deterrent’.

Watching the Supreme Court ruling on Friday was extremely uplifting, finally common sense. Then listening to the FCA follow-up tells you everything that is wrong with this country. Along with every other Lloyds shareholder, I had factored in both ends of the scale and the repercussions for both the negative and positive outcomes. I fully understand why those who sold last week did sell and should not have any regrets.

The data above was the reason for not selling and was prepared to bite the bullet for that decision, and today's share price action was relief for many. Dividends will be re-invested but happy with current holding and let's see what the next two years brings.

Lloyds also reported its busiest day ever for mortgage lending in March, as first-time buyers stampeded to get ahead of a rise in stamp duty in England and Northern Ireland.
