A JV would be great if we were certain not to have the permitting problems etc that we've already encountered. I'm thinking with the development of KS. Hence a sale outright would take away any problems for us whatsoever. Only because of how things have gone to date. We still have an environmental permit for KN to be attained, after the concession that we don't yet have.

Yes 3card, that's another way of looking at it. I'd rather know what was actually happening though, as a personal preference. Him keeping mum could also mean he's currently focusing on the other two projects and letting Kallak simply play out. I'd like to know that he's not just doing that.

I wouldn't mind an update on Kal now. I feel it would be good to know whether Kurt has been back on to the Government to find out what the delay is with UNESCO, considering the time lapsed since comments on our application were invited. Maybe UNESCO has responded and the Government is dealing with the reply. Not sure what is occurring are we? Only that we are still waiting and it's ticking on for eight full years.

Yes, we can't pressure UNESCO, but as Aug has mentioned, the Government could be pressed and it would then be a case of the Government itself chasing up with UNESCO. I very much doubt Baylan and co will do anything though, and the happier he'll be the longer UNESCO takes. He has obviously been disrespectful enough to us, to have disregarded the fact that over a year ago he knew we held the meeting to consider taking legal action. Our application still then had nothing done with it until the KU findings. What a duffer.

Yes. It has already been established that there would be no direct effects, and nobody could come up with any indirect effects, so the UNESCO answer, considering also the lack of any real proximity of Kal to Lap, should have been a swift one. We've been over this ground when we did the HIA, and the threat to Laponia was not flagged after that. Because there isn't any threat. I think it may have been either you or Aug who also mentioned that UNESCO has no business making a mining decision, so we must trust that it hasn't been asked to do so.

Kurt hopefully won't stand for much more of a delay before he prompts a response from the Government.

Yes, I don't believe he'd be able to at all justify the failings in the process that were exposed by the KU.

Yet we have since been waiting five months for UNESCO, so I feel it's time to demand that the Government now chases this up.

Smaller number of investors per percentage of shares over here, larger number in Sweden. The last fundraise Offer was oversubscribed over there. That should be an indication of confidence, that all is very much not lost re Kallak.

I think we've been here too long to expect a sudden change in the way this particular Government functions. Or doesn't!

Nor do I feel misled by Kurt. Toppy is right about other prospects elsewhere though. We are so used to disappointment here that we've become comfortable knowing it. So much so and to mark the drudge, I've started to grow algae on my cerebellum. Lol.

Hi lb. I know you are speaking with Pocko, but just to say, I didn't get the feeling when I took up the Offer that Kurt was implying a decision on Kallak would be imminent. I took up the Offer with my eyes wide open, based on the experience of previous years, insofar as I had a low expectation of the Kallak decision arriving anytime soon. Kurt has made it plain since that the UNESCO referral was unnecessary, but that does not mean the Government can and will simply speed into its decision once UNESCO refers back. We don't know what the Government will do and he has never indicated that a decision is on the horizon.

That's my take on it, and I feel, if I'm right, that many long-term holders, whether they took up the Offer or not, would not have felt that a Kallak decision was imminent from anything that Kurt had said at the time of the fundraising.

Well, maybe not much better odds, but certainly everything nailed to a timescale.

Possibly because no process has really been in place for three years or more. We have done well to stick with it Pocko. But we have.

Straight to the Government's desk is good. What we need and really what should be expected. I know he's trying his best, taking his time also to be respectful, even where it isn't merited. Top bloke.

UNESCO not UNESCSO. Not sure who they are. Lol.

Hi Sooz. Yes you are right, but the Government's letter to UNESCSO is in the public interest and Kurt hasn't indicated that he's got a copy of it. Also, hasn't he had to write to UNESCO to see how long it will take for them to respond? The Government can't be trusted, because our application saw no movement for at least three years, when we were told that it was being prioritised and a decision being prepared. Not true. So although the reply from UNESCO is in the public interest, depending on the content may well determine whether the Government tries to keep it within its walls for a while. It wouldn't surprise me Sooz, considering the track record here.

Pocko, good points, which slightly terrify me further. I am hoping that UNESCO's response is not ambiguous. I don't believe Baylan or his colleagues will be in any rush to inform Kurt when a reply is received from UNESCO though, because that could then lead to the "Well, how much longer now then?" type of question. They won't want that.
