Sooz, thanks for those comments. I take your point about Annie, yes. I think she left the political scene to start a family, so maybe she now has more important things to nurture and grow and is keeping a low profile. No politics while at home, the joys of motherhood perhaps being enough to contend with. Lol.

Or maybe the issue was seen in her eyes as a potential can of worms at the time that she simply didn't want to open.

Sooz, based on the proximity of Kal to Lap, and Kurt saying that it isn't a matter for UNESCO, yet the Government has decided it is, what exactly has to be resolved with UNESCO that is taking so long? Have you any idea about what was asked of them? I guess it's just to confirm that the World Heritage status won't be affected by Kal, but when we completed the HIA, nothing was mentioned at the time by anyone re the World Heritage status. Unless something else has arisen, the Government is just continuing to stall on a decision and it not following up with UNESCO to push for its comments kind of supports that.

Lb, we now have Sven writing and backed up by the KU findings. We need to see what Baylan does, how he deals with Sven's letter. We surely have a mounting case in our favour, but taking legal action is a last resort. What isn't a last resort is the mention of being left with no other option than to take legal action. The suggestion of it.

In my view the KU findings should have opened a few sleeping ministers' eyes. If that hasn't impacted upon Baylan's world and he is still sliding our application sideways with the UNESCO referral not being chased up at all, then we need to use those findings when we write to Big Stef.

We must trust that Sven will have a positive impact for us, because the SAB and previously Göran have not achieved a timely outcome for us in this concession nightmare. They may have helped in the background, but our relationship with the Government itself has only seen us mistreated badly by both Baylan and his predecessor. Sven needs to ensure that we are now treated respectfully, taken seriously, and that an outcome on the concession is achieved. I would hope and trust, depending on Baylan's response, if any, that Sven and Kurt will be prepared to make demands of the Government, via the PM if necessary, to draw this application debacle to a close. Sven's letter to Baylan was good, but I personally don't feel it was demanding enough to shake Baylan up, as it is obvious old Baylo doesn't care how long we have been and still are waiting for a decision on our application. Baylan also already knows everything that was said re the benefits to Jokkmokk etc and our tone probably will have to change if he still chooses to be evasive.

Only my view.

Lb, it hasn't been a good year yet, on the face of it, although we have signed an MOU. The next step in the Kallak saga will surely depend on whether Baylan replies to Sven's letter, and if he does, whether the response is more of the same general nonsense that we've encountered from him to date. If it is, then I do feel we should write to the PM. First and last chance for the Government to sort this concession problem for us.

We can't hang about waiting for UNESCO with nobody from the Government chasing those guys up. Knowing (as far as we shareholders are aware) that our case, especially at this stage, should not even have been referred to UNESCO for comments. We completed the HIA and followed UNESCO guidelines to do so. Nobody at the time suggested the application then be referred to UNESCO, nor could they specifically find any fault with the HIA.

I won't say anything more.

We never really hear much about what any of them do, not only the SAB. Lol.

Sooz, you may be right, but at least Baylan would know that the PM had seen it and passed it on, downwards, if you see what I mean. More pressure on Baylan to actually do something.

I do feel Sven could have said ".....not only about a mine....." instead of ".....not about a mine...." because of course it's about a mine, and the wider benefits that one could, should and would generate.

For goodness sake, let's be proud of the "m" word, really highlight that and not make it a dirty word. Lol.

Agree with that Treetop. We also know that a mine at Kal would take up a minute percentage part only of the area in general. The Sami folks just aren't seemingly willing to transport their reindeer around any fenced boundary, no matter how small. Remembering also, that the lands of Sweden do not belong solely to the Sami. We have every right to mine this resource if it is economically viable to do so and capable of being mined. The UN rules say as much.

I'm looking for strong leadership now from Kurt, to protect our interests.

I know what you mean. It's so tedious without any news again on our primary asset. We at least know where the application is stuck this time. Somewhere new. Lol. Not a lot we can do, but Kurt could press the Government to chase up UNESCO. Don't mess about, write straight to the PM and mention the KU findings and our continuing struggle to see fair treatment even now. No timescale for UNESCO's comments etc with nobody Governmental apparently bothered.

Remember when our application went back to the Government for the second time (think it was) and then interested parties were invited to comment? Everyone had a set time by which to do so, (obviously the Government then sat on everything for over three years afterwards, lol) but why should UNESCO not also have been given a timeframe during which to give its comments?

Kurt, on the face of it, is not all over this latest UNESCO delaying ploy like a rash, insofar as it at least seems to be a ploy, but secretly I naturally hope and trust that he is.

I'm no legal expert, but it also seems Baylan must be light in the toe department, having almost shot off both of his own feet.

Lol, yes Sooz, we don't know what the Government has exactly said to or asked of UNESCO do we? Kurt hasn't told us, so we don't know whether he knows either. The precise wording of the Government referral.

Hasty, I feel your post is pretty fair at this point. I would hope that, like myself, you would be more than happy to eat humble pie if it just so happens that Kurt is actually super busy working on a massive deal or deals for us, hence the reason perhaps for him not replying to shareholders' emails of late.

I'm kind of fighting his corner, but I too have doubts, because I don't have the information present that would alleviate my frustrations. Without news we obviously tend to drift towards the negative, especially when we have been waiting for something specific to be concluded for what seems like a lifetime.

I do feel we need an update on Kallak. But is Kurt able to do that right now? Dunno.

I've loved the Spring too. My garden seems to have new bushes growing in it, and I didn't plant anything new, lol, but also tiny white flowers have appeared on one of my trees, which doesn't usually occur, but I'm happy that it has.

Maybe the wind it be blowin' seeds and spores all settley settley. Lol.

Sooz, I'm trusting Kurt isn't just sitting and waiting for UNESCO to pass its comments to the Government, as in, like we shareholders are. If he is, I'll be very disappointed. Therefore, presuming he isn't, he could give us an update on the state of play with UNESCO, why the delay etc, and, what he is doing to move things along.

Only a few thoughts.

Hopefully old Bayls will be all nestled on his commode, sat praying he still has a job.
