Gas field reserves existing in eastern Georgia equal to 5 trillion cubic meters – this statement was made by Frontera executive. The announcement regarding discovery of gas reserves was made during the Atlantic Council session.

However, the company has not addressed the State yet.
- “Frontera” is making statements regarding discovery for the last two years. In its statements it names several resources. A huge and very specific work is required for transformation of resources into supplies that can be extracted.
According to international law and the contract entered into with “Frontera”, if the company makes a discovery on its license block it has to notify the State about it and provide documentation, which proves such a discovery. The company has not addressed the State with such notification so far”, - explains Giorgi Tatishvili.
According to him, the company plans development of 23 million cubic meters of gas on Mtsare Khevi gas field.
