I guess so. And it keeps on dropping! Still, at some point I’m topping up - there’s got to be upside to this, surely?
The answers to BluePete’s questions are: 1) I guess not and 2) definitely not (as I say, I wish the rest of my portfolio looked as healthy right now!). Guess that answers my own question - sit tight and fingers crossed!
I opened my first ever SIPP (VERY late starter in life!) with a sizeable chunk of BT shares at £1 a piece. Now by far my best investment - wish rest of my portfolio looked so healthy! Question now is do I take the profits or continue to ride the wave???
Wishing I had topped up again yesterday now!
Not looking such a good day at the moment G.Star - unless of course you are looking to top up at a much reduced price! Before the usual suspects say it, I know SMt is all about the long haul - and that’s what I bought in for - but even so! But as I say, will wait to see if they drop any more and then it’s top up time for me again!
Think it will continue? Just noticed it’s already started dipping again - always the same!!
Don’t get too excited - long way to go before close of play! Would be nice to think things were turning positive again….. but I can’t see it personally….
Think you’ll find the drop continued and it finished up down -1.2%! Bought last year and holding for long term in a SIPP - so not sweating, just wondering if there was a particular reason for the dip again!
Think you’ll find the drop continued and it finished down -1.2%! And no, I bought last year and for holding in a SIPP the long term - so not sweating, just wondered why the dip again!
Any ideas on why the sudden drop in SP this afternoon? Had been rising steadily this morning……
No idea - took me by surprise and meant I didn’t get the chance to take some profit. What’s the betting it drops back like a stone tomorrow?!?!??
BOO must be worth more than this - but agree that I won’t be topping up just yet. If it hits £2.50 then I might just though!
Fairly sizeable drop again this morning. Has BT hit a ceiling at £2 and now going to drop right back down again (and time to sell out) , or is it just temporary before ploughing on to new, heights? Would love others views!
I bought into BT for first time last summer at around £1 - so have just doubled my money. But I’m certain there is still much more growth to be had…… or am I now in danger of being greedy???
Personally , I think the question is whether or not to buy more! Surely an IT with their track record has got to recover - even if it’s more of a long term investment? Only dipped my toe in the water with them last summer (wish I’d got in in the Spring!) and have bought twice more since. I’m expecting to hold for at least 5 years - maybe a lot longer.....
