This is without doubt one of the most interesting penny shares about. With the value of the Greenland graphite confirmed as enormous and the promising gamble of 'added value' Royal gold, Alba never disappoints in entertaining its shareholders. I am up to my knees in investment here and have been for years. Total respect for GF at the wheel but mostly the hugely knowledgeable MA quietly steering things. He strikes me as a man who would be long gone if the project was hot air. He hasn't and I believe he thinks this is big.
Nadolig Llawen everybody....
Swansea was known as copperopolis. More was smelted there than anywhere else in the World...
The US government piling a huge amount of investment into drilling near Nome, Ak . The US aware that they are devoid of known or workable graphite in the entire Country. Their interest in Alba's holding of their subsidiary company, Greenroc with their proven graphite resource at Amitsoq must be enormous. Link is worth a read....

Very good PR having a narrator with an accent close to the location of the mine. Will go down well with the locals. Perfect regional pronunciation rather than having George or Mark mangling their Ll's and Dd's .
Exactly...what it does show is the rapid installation of infrastructure at a previously flooded level and detailed knowledge of legislation and procedure to continue dewatering. Very professional of GF and MA and team I say. Reinforced by an unscripted YouTube video this morning. Personally very happy with this progress.
Assuming that what I had in Scotgold is now ashes (that's risky investments for you), a silver lining occurred to me today. If Alba is in the market for some hardly used 2nd hand mining/extracting plant and a trained workforce there may be a location perhaps just 400 miles away available at firesale prices rather than ordering new or from international locations...
The plus side for anyone relocating is The climate and scenery are similar but Dolgellau is a bit greener and warmer....
...just saying...
Lancashire. The fracking site was near Blackpool.
Who in all honesty is stupid enough to sell at the moment. Quite a lot of excitement for what is in reality a small time unapproved gold field. But with emerging potential. However it is nicely backed with a major holding in Greenland titanium and graphite.
Just read the Wales Online article. That's a really factual and thorough piece. Well written. Well reported. Learned a lot we didn't know.
For your diary as we hold 50% in Greenroc graphite.
The Faraday Institution Conference on "Battery Research and Innovation for a Sustainable Future" .... link on the internet...
Purely supposition but the input of capital to develop Wales x 1 and Greenland x2 would spread things far too thinly. Calving Greenland makes things very much more attractive for a jv or a buyout of very desirable raw materials. But as I say that's purely speculation on my part....
If I were to haul George and Mark up for anything it would be their Welsh pronunciation :-) ... a couple of evening classes to get their Ll's , ff's, f's and dd's sorted with a local teacher might go down well with the locals and not make them look like some incomers on the make. A fine nuance but very important with some....also....worth reading the last few RNS from Scotgold. They have had a bumpy ride in the last year but appear to have a revised and working gameplan now and production looks impressive. It would be interesting to see another St Andrew's day pour film next month. They have learned lessons for Alba to heed a year or two down the line.
Pretty positive performance all round I thought.
Takeaway?
1. Hang on to their Horse Hill %
2. Ball in the court of the regulators in several areas at Clogau/ Llechfraith/DGB...some planning apps granted?? That's new isn't it?
3. Don't want a JV in Wales....that's confidence.
4. Very positive cash holding ex Greenroc.
5. Involvement with previous companies is nil. Everything they've done is all new in last 3 years.
6. A lot of 'silly' misinformation on the message boards.
I'm happy to hold for years. This will be a good one.
It's worth pointing out that we live in a very different age to 1870. Virtually every river in the UK was polluted with something. In the case of N and W Wales heavy metals like lead and silver. Alba and NRW are ticking every box in stages on a very strict spec.
Anything below 2 C .... Bawtic ... right yes?
Anything below 2 C .... Bawtic ... right yes?
.
Well worth a listen. A man who clearly knows what he is talking about and a miner by trade.
Agreed. The board being given a full mot .... all linen washed in public before action.
.....and you have to remember that although Alba have yet to build a processing plant they had few costs recommissioning the existing adits to get to the quartz. Scotgold had the upfront cost of tunnelling in an adit of 400m I think, before they got to the vertical ore.
No jugger they weren't expecting it to be as high as that. For example Scotgold are working on a figure of 11.8g/tonne , half a million tonnes of ore, to yield about 231,000 oz over 9 years with combined operating and capital costs of £544/oz.
