Agree unitedguy, definitely haven't forgotten given my 80% loss after 2 years of investment here. Holding out hope though and believe it's going in a more positive direction that it ever did - albeit at a snail's pace.
And remember the JV with Volz *shouldn't* be the only avenue.
7 sectors with patent applications apparently, including the most recent cosmetics mention.
No point even discussing that with you. Anyone with 10 mins and half a brain could read up on the future of nanotech. Crop technology alone with an increasing population coupled with climate change will be huge.
Yeah because nanotech has zero potential, right?
Now we're talking.
I'm guessing (and hoping) that they have analysed past approaches like promises of contracts, promises of machines, advertising on socials and in the papers and realised it had minimal effect on orders and/or the SP. Any "recent" news first had to be dug up by shareholders, prompting the BoD to release a bit more but not in the circumstances that they would have liked. Maybe they want the full package ready before telling us anything; which is why we've not been able to do any further digging the last few months, everything has been deliberately and effectively hidden from view. What keeps me here (other than the 80% paper loss) is the hope that Volz must have done their due diligence before the JV and purchase of the new warehouse etc. GC still has an academic reputation that he likely wants to maintain and they actually have a foot in the door of nanotechnology. There really could be big things brewing.
However, they need to do something and fast. All we see from the outside are failed ventures, team members, advisors and directors coming and going just as often as their promises. Company name changes and subsidiaries sprouting up everywhere. Interviews telling us that they will change their approach to shareholder communication and then months of radio silence. Reduction to 1p options for Duffin, who I haven't seen actually buy any shares. News of potential acquisition and then another company pop up out of nowhere (GBNano). I dread to see the accounts as well. We had the technology and £5mio in the middle of the pandemic and couldn't do anything. Time is ticking and they really need to do something soon or the SP will slide into oblivion.
"makes no scientific sense" - some bloke off LSE
Agree Sharebel, we have so much potential in various areas but until we breach those and people take notice, we'll be dragged along with other covid stocks. As you said, we are not an LFT/PCR company and therefore should not be treated as such. Our tech will remain relevant long after the covid tests. Additionally, our masks and filters are relevant to all respiratory viruses, including influenza. So even within the niche area of viruses, they are not too specific to any single one (corona). Nonetheless, it would be nice to get some more beefy news (with some numbers included). Holding patiently as usual. Honestly believe there are great things coming with NNN this year!
Doesn't need to be restricted to aircraft either. I wonder how many car air con systems could be fitted with a virus-killing filter (maybe some of those big German automobile companies could talk with Volz German HQ. Audi, BMW, Merc, VW.). One can dream.
Weary about bringing this up as we've heard nothing, but remember we were also at the NHS procurement event with masks AND filters on display (unofficial photograph showing the filters though?). They must have talked to people there but first wanted to secure the JV with Volz?
Let's not forget that we also have the 5-ply which was relatively recently given a small mention in an RNS
Couldn't agree more, Sanders. I've also been here (and held) for a year now. Not posted recently due to the mess of this forum. I was always one to back the company and the huge potential that they have (which I do still believe in, perhaps naively) and I think I can speak for other staunch supporters that expectation and support is seriously wavering.
The point at which I really started to become frustrated was the 17th August RNS in which Legge would use phrases such as:
"This is not to suggest that the development of the anti-viral mask was a failure. Far from it."
"However, new product development takes time with uncertainty as to the eventual outcome and the Company has been keen to avoid creating expectations that are then not met."
More recently, the complete lack of comms around the procurement event. To any other company that would have been the perfect time to get on the old social media and blow the trumpet. Nothing at all from the new CEO in a whole month either. I don't think there was ever any substance provided regarding Volz; only mentioned a few times. Nano10, cloudveil, India, filters, 5-ply masks, distributors. The list goes on and on.
"I appreciate that shareholders have been keen for news, but much of what has been achieved since the start of the year has had to happen behind the scenes and some remains a work in progress."
Okay, but no communication whatsoever (unless a shareholder digs up information); no social media presence; no word of hello from the CEO who should use their position of power and influence to steady the ship - nothing! People of course speculate that the lack of comms is due to some knuckles being rapped in the past regarding bigger boats etc., but surely they can still stand up, work within their boundaries and encourage discourse between themselves and shareholders.
SP has been decimated, would need to do 100% two days in a row for me to break even. Still, holding in hope... what else can you do?
It should have been in an RNS but, similarly, we've not seen it RNSd by any other companies. No other company name flying about. Could also be a strict NDA until tests and contacts etc have been finalised. Remaining hopeful but let's see...
Thanks for that, Kainos. I should add something that seems to be strongly lacking from the media these days (would have liked to discuss more of the science before but this bb has been a complete mess of late that I didn't want to waste my time).
TLDR: vaccines won't protect us forever. Masks still required.
The approach in the UK will provide the perfect environment for the virus to mutate/evolve into a resistant strain that will eventually breach into the vaccinated population. If you have say 50% of the population vaccinated and "immune" and 50% not vaccinated and becoming increasingly infected (as we currently do) you then have 30Mio people acting as incubators for trillions upon trillions of viruses to replicate. Most of these will be "deflected", so to say, from the vaccinated population; keeping them very much happy for a while. However, DNA replication is fickle and highly error prone. It takes just 1 virus to develop a chance mutation that renders it resistant to the vaccinations and thereby allowing it to breach the vaccinated population barrier. Mark my words, this will be the case if the UK and other countries continue with this approach. Ultimately we should keep the measures to prevent spread and masks are one of the best ways to do so (particularly our mask, as we all know). Long day in the lab for me today so the brain is buzzing from scientific thoughts...
Anyway, still deeply in the red, still holding strong. Very promising future for Nanosynth.
GLA!
Imagine such filters being used in car air con systems... Maybe our Volz partners know someone in the German automobile industry...
One can dream!
They'll always be at it. At least now we don't have to smell the shorters/derampers getting burnt, what with our new 5 ply masks and air con/ventilation systems.
I've posted a couple of times recently about the changes we're witnessing at RMS. The recent RNS's clearly set in motion some solid changes in direction based on strategic review; mentioning for one that RMS would not be a production company but would instead be a hotbed for ideas. GC is in academic with a fairly large group of research scientists and an even larger network of other contacts in the field. They have the potential to develop so many cutting-edge ideas that, in my opinion of course, it would be silly not to invest here. It's no longer a pump and dump company without direction, they have very clearly stated before that they want to review everything, and they have done just that. It's all heading in the right direction and for me warrants longer-term investment.
People were too attached to the idea of the Nottingham mask machine (myself included) at the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, and I'm also somewhat disappointed that the issues surrounding this have not yet been resolved, I can't fathom why this is the case. However, the masks were designed, produced, tested and some have already been sold, with larger orders supposedly being taken care of by Volz. Perfect, that's exactly what they want this company to do - have an idea, test it, patent it, outsource production. That groundwork and pipeline has now been laid with the mask.
Now, we have the intellectual property for the copper nanotech which they already seem to be applying to a couple of other products. Hopefully they gain traction and the BoD learn from the mask making procedure. It's all there in plain sight, we just shouldn't let our emotions get the better of us and only look at the surface - which from a quick glance does indeed look shambolic. Take a step back though and you see that they've set a direction, have an idea, looking for a new CEO, changing the company name. Of course this takes time but I honestly see huge potential longer-term (although it's not always easy to see the positives as I'm also about 14k down).
Anyway for me it's a strong hold, not sure I want to top up right now until things are a bit clearer but good luck to everyone else whatever you choose to do!
I don't think you should worry too much about MPs not knowing of the masks. You could also email them about a new brand of surgical gloves or gowns and they'd be none the wiser. These masks will get where they're meant to be (to medical professionals) and numed are already a step in the right direction.
So move on. There is nothing for you here. Choose another company to invest in where you'll be happy.
This is proper investment! Patented tech, many ideas and the drive to make it happen - takes time but hopefully worth it in the end!
