About 6- 8 months ago EDF announced that between now and the completion of the Hinckley Point completion (no set date on that) they would be offering 30,000 (yes thirty thousand ) apprenticeships at their expense, much to Grant Shapps delight he was energy minister at the time. About two months later EDF announced the project was behind schedule and more funding would be required
For those concerned about share list etc, I was a holder of WRES shares for a short time. The complete list of shareholders names /address amount of shares held was listed by the administrators in their updates through Companies House UK not sure if companies linked with Caymans do the same. One of the slueths on the wres bb came up with the list when the same sort of questions were being asked.

Commercial / Military builds take a look at royalbodwes.com website. You will notice that they are able to produce a fair number of ships over the course of the year, eight or nine last year. No complex weapon systems sonar etc and no mod constraints which push the completion dates way over.
That’s why contracts like Sea Rose are so good for HW , even over 100 crew members to assist with the refit...more of these please
Si Derman ,the Maersk Cutter can accommodate 44 so would think crew members would have travelled over on Sea Rose , and probably crew changing via flights due to the length of stay for refit. A lucrative contract, more of this type would be good
Dawski, unfortunately some on here jump the gun with statements. For one the Bibby accommodation barge was in A&P Falmouth for work at the same time that the Argus was mentioned. So I guess the Bibby barge got priority, for the work schedule. The RFA's have many reasons for going into ports
Kaeren, No trouble getting apprentices, but keeping them after training is. Many move on to other industries or simply drop out
The accommodation issue is always a problem, the purely Naval yards have for years offered apprenticeships to those outside the area with accommodation, but not in great numbers.
