It seems that a third of businesses rely on Amazon for cloud services, so when a problem strikes it hits hard and Lloyds suffered. I am going to guess that Ofcom will have nothing to hit Amazon with for any sort of fine or penalty because all the servers are probably based in the US and we know that Americans get away with nearly everything.

Now if it had been a British company like BT then Ofcom would be crawling all over them demanding answers and dishing out fines. So, does Amazon have too much market power? Should it be broken up so there are more choices?

More importantly should Lloyds look at moving away to another platform for greater resilience?

Now what would have been an interesting addition to the fantasy list is Deutsche bank. I should have sold all my Lloyds shares and purchased DB when they were under 7 euros. Lloyds like other banks needs to find other ways to reduce visible profit. Perhaps spending more on buybacks and purchasing more homes weekly so that any profit announced each quarter is reduced visibly.

There are about 3M unemployed in the EU between 18-25 and about 620,000 in the UK. So the expectation is that we will receive another 3M people from overseas and got to give them jobs we haven’t got for our own people.

In total there are about 65M in the EU between 18-29. So any crazy deal could allow up to the same number of people that are in the UK to come over from the EU.

Even if 500,000 came who pays for accommodation and looking after them if they don’t have a job? Don’t say we have to bail them out as well. Another stitch up by the EU and we fall for it every time.

Young people who have been out of a job or education for 18 months will be offered a guaranteed paid work placement, Rachel Reeves is set to announce.

The government has not given a figure for the cost of the scheme but it will be funded in part from existing budgets set out in the spending review earlier this year.

It will work with private companies, with the government anticipating businesses would cover at some of the wages for job placements.

I will never be satisfied while too many people's potential is wasted, frozen out of employment, education, or training said Reeves.

What this really means is that as the unemployment figures rise she sees an answer is to take out all the youngsters and put them in a private workplace temporarily with no prospect of a job at the end. It also means that she can put a lot of boat people in these placements and then claim they are contributing to the GDP of the country. Then she will claim a lower number out of work and Labour policies are working. Lots of smoke and mirrors deflecting going on here and they think we are stupid and not see through it.

Notice that private companies will be used and not any government/civil service jobs are offered and that the private sector will stump up most of the wages.

Times are getting desperate now for Labour to hide the true figures on how this country has failed in their hands.
