While Barratt has the financial strength to overcome temporary market difficulties, medical device company Polarean last week warned investors about its financial position.

Its half-year results stated that “it is anticipated that additional capital will need to be raised by the end of the second quarter of 2024 … to fund the group’s activities at their planned levels beyond this date”.

Given a lack of certainty in its future existence, Questor recommends that readers sell the stock. Its 88pc share price decline since first being tipped by this column in June 2021 is hugely disappointing. However, its risk-to-reward ratio is highly unfavourable.

Hi Graham, I have been here for nearly four years, like you my avaerage is much higher. HL charge me £11.95 also, but I just top up a few hundred quid when I can just to bring the average down. With a strong possiblility of a JV maybe that's having an effect on the SP.

Hopefully I'm not seeing this share through rose tinted glasses!

Not a good start to my Thursday. By far this is my biggest holding, and unfortunately for me at around 49p. I was even buying some more in the high teens just to bring my average down!

I'm guess, I just need to sit on my hands, take a big sigh and wait! ..... I can wait another 8 months.

Been sitting here for a few years, reading some positive (or what I thought) news and then nothing. I got out of EML to invest here, thinking more oppertunity.

Now I'm thinking sell, swallow my loss and move on. Another one bites the dust!

At least we all agree, maybe it's a slow start, but a start it most certainly is. I get the feeling that momentum will build from here.

Do you know what? When I came across Polarean a few years ago, I thought it was a genie in a bottle, something to buy into and see a solid return for my money. Now I'm not so sure.
My average is around 56p, what do I do, just keep holding and hoping that any buyout is around 60-70p or is it likely to be somewhere near to my 56p? If there is any news, when might it be? the share seems to have just stagnated with each day a further fall.
What to do?!?
