Yes. I guess now they have postponed the results announcement there is very little to get excited about.
Having said that (and I might regret saying it) in the old days we would have dribbled back to 30p by now, after the recent surge.

It’s almost impossible to predict PFD SP......but for what it’s worth, I would expect us to be somewhere between 40p and 50p until the results on the 14th may.
As ever, I may be completely wrong !!

I don’t know this for a fact, but I imagine that they are referring to the possible disposal of Hovis.

Same here, but in my case 10 years. I moved into profit at 42p so I am taking some profit, because like you, I don’t really trust the market on PFD

I agree with that. The high point was 57p in April 16 and that was with far higher debt than now.

Agreed. I really don’t understand that post from sandyman, it seems like real head in the sand stuff.
I have had a message from my contact in oasis saying that they are pleased that the pension deal has been done “at last”, but that “we are not done yet”
I am looking forward to more good news in due course.

Remember that they are the in-house broker, so they have a bit of a vested interest.......but so do the rest of us, so let’s hope they get to their target !!

If these were “normal times” PFD would continue to edge higher until the results in the middle of may and then fall after a decent set of results......however these are not normal times, so who knows. I wouldn’t be in the least surprised to hear that you are back in at 18p !!

We were told that he kept it to himself because it wasn’t a formal bid. As I have said, he had his own agenda at that time. If he had decided to cosy up to McCormick and encourage them in their bid, it might well have been a different outcome.
Anyway, in the end it cost him his job and the SP history since then tells you all you need to know about his strategy.
I’m afraid that I am not particularly optimistic at the moment. I can’t see another bid because of the pension problem. If they could get a decent price for the sale of a brand they would have done it by now. If they are going to try and trade their way out of debt it will takes years and years.
As ever....I hope my pessimism is misplaced

I went to the AGM in the July after the McCormick bid which started in January. Remember Darby didn’t tell anyone about the McCormick approach for a couple of months. During that time he stitched up the deal with Nissin.
We were told at the AGM that McCormick were shown the books and withdrew their bid. I have never believed that. I believe the truth was that Darby thought the deal with Nissin would improve the SP to well over the 52p that Nissin paid and he wanted rid of McCormick.

Looking on the bright side, maybe they don’t want to be telling the world that they have made a fortune out of the virus !!

The results are largely irrelevant imho.
The city will keep the sp down until there are credible plans to deal with the debt and the pension situation. Trying to trade their way out of debt will take many many more years.
As always, I hope I am wrong

I too have been here over 10 years.
There is only ONE thing that could make it different this year......and that would be me selling my entire holding the day before the results. I’m afraid PFD always disappoints
