i agree, they acnt announce anything without the key question, which is when will it be available and to that end they will have been manufacturing to meet initial demand, likely in the many millions. It wouldn't surprise me if the tests were already being delivered to outlets but that's wishful thinking on my part.

Passports will greatly aid track and trace. It is possible to run a virus down to a point where it is gone. It's been done before. If the powers that be want to know what you're up to they can do that very well already. Truth is though that most people are not that interesting. But getting society back on its feet is very interesting to me...we take much for granted and lockdown serves to highlight how fortunate we are. I want that freedom back for me and my children. if I need an immunity passport to regain that life then it's a small price to pay.

I've got a friend who is a nurse and he was telling me about how they ran out of body bags.....just like the flu.

As second waves start it's clear that knowing those that have immunity will be critical to managing the population to reduce spread and will provide data to scientists in terms of health risk, vaccination and treatment. To think testing is going away is naive. It's more critical than ever and £10 a test per person is a tiny fraction of the cost to the future of this country. Other countries will want the tech too.

Whether or not the UK govt buys all the tests is not really the issue because Odx have a capacity limit, if they sell on Amazon then with a bit of PR they will sell everything they make. If they can make 500,000 a week they can sell them.
