Many differing view points from the scientific community, some suggesting vaccine is possible, others that its not possible, some say antibodies are not present in all people who recover because CAR T cells do the work instead. Do antibodies give lasting immunity? Lots to try and assimilate. One persistent berk here thinks its gone all together because its nice and sunny. It will come back because people will carry it who are asymptomatic and thus cannot be quarantined so the virus will likely always have a host somewhere.
So seems to me that repeat testing on a regular basis for lots of people in lots of sectors of life will be necessary and realistically that will need to be quick and cheap testing of both antibodies and antigens in order to run the virus down. Which can be done with the right effort and attitude. The truth is in the autumn this will start to spread again and with flu season approaching it could be mayhem without a better testing regime.
My uncle is in hospital on an isolated ward with heart and lung problems, hes in his 70s, turns out the only other guy in the ward had Covid 19, it took a week for my uncle's results to come back from his swab( which they were not going to tell him the purpose of!!). He was negative thank God but the point is that we don't have a real handle on this in this country yet. Mass testing is required to be part of the solution, lets hope no delays in getting in to production for all of our products because we cant afford another full lock down again.
