Sorry to hear about any PI taking a hit, I have managed to recover my SPD losses thanks to PSN. Have a feeling SPD are not going to hit the lower end of their revised EBITDA target, no firm reason just a suspicion given the RNS on the 24th, a market warmer that they now have a valid reason to profit warn again. The pound is still taking a pounding (no pun intended) irrespective of any FTSE dead cat bounces. Prefer to wait until after the 7th now - rushed in too soon on the back of MA's excellent performance in front of the panel of numpties. Good luck. DD

Wouldn't say no to 21 but would be very very surprised if it gets there that quick. No TA but £21 looks like strong resistance to me and will take some breaking, realistically holding above 20 to provide support will be the next challenge......that said a vote to strike this weekend by Norweigen oil workers and who knows. AHT has to be a good hedge against the impact of Brexit, top up time soon me thinks as it's clearly over done at the moment. Since last Friday the £ v $ has dropped about 13%, each 1% drop is an extra £6m pa to AHT's pre tax profit, so that's an extra £78m so far which represents an uplift of about 12.5% of 2016 pre tax profit. Some 86% of their revenue is generated in the US ($),.......if this isn't a safe bet I don't know what is, as usual DYOR etc. DD

In my mind there is no doubt which is the better value when comparing JD and SPD: Both have about the same market cap and SPD has double the revenue, yet JD trades on a much higher PE of 19 to 20. Some would argue that's because JD is still in growth, however, despite the profit warnings at SPD they still may match last years earnings, or only slightly below 2015 EBITDA £383m, FY 2016 forecast EBITDA £380m. That puts SPD on a PE of only 9, half that of JD. DD

Watched Sir Philip Green being grilled by the MPs yesterday and found it very interesting. He did slip out that hed'd heard that Chappell was trying to sell BHS to MA for a £1. He also stated that he was "friends" with MA. Sir Philip Green did not do himself any favours at the hearing, he kept pontificating and repeating himself, his nickname in the press of "Sir Shifty" describes him to a tee. Compared to MA's performance I know who I would trust and it was obvious whom the panel would trust also. Many who post negatively about MA on here should watch the Green grilling, then decide whether or not they would choose someone like MA or Green to adhere to and apply due diligence and corporate governance. The £10m was the additional annual cost incurred for paying staff "above" the minimum wage. The minimum wage increased Oct 2015 (adult rate £6.70/hour) and again April 2016 (adult rate £7.20/hour). The time of change to minimum wage was not January 2016, that was just SPD clarifying their pledge on minimum wage. The select committee and HMRC are investigating claims that they weren't/haven't been paying the minimum wage at Shirebrook. At the select committee MA admitted that SPD were not paying the minimum wage due to the security checks, that was the first time I believe that a SPD representative had made such an admission. DD
