RE: DEB Put Option30 Oct 2016 14:28
Can you post up what the JD profits are please.
The put option is not a CFD, it's my understanding that if the share price is not at or greater than the exercise price SPD will have to buy the entire stake - ok it's not £85m but £71m (the £85m was taken from a news paper article at the time the put option was extended).
You don't know what the exercise price is (nobody other than SPD and DEB do from what I can gather), it could be £1, £2 who knows? - if you do know what the exercise price is then please post up a link.
To say their hedging was sloppy has to be the understatement of the century, not only the £15m loss in a matter of seconds but how about their complete lack of Euro and Stirling hedges, the lack of euro hedge alone has ccist c £68m, the lack of Stirling hedge will mean the costs of goods will go up at least 20%, think all these alone are starting to stack up to about £230m.
Im of the view that SPD may be a good investment, then again when inflation starts to kick in next year who knows!.
