Absolutely, technical data has its place too in investing mind, but just posted elsewhere about investing in well-researched companies with a solid base and fundamentals so you know the 'value' is there and you can ride out serious dips knowing you haven't placed your money on hopes and dreams but real products or services and a business strategy that should come out in the end :-)

I never get too hung up on brokers targets and avoid giving them too heavy a weighting in my decision making other than how they might influence other investors. I try to invest in companies with a solid base and solid fundamentals with the theory that you can ride any serious downturns knowing that the 'value' is still there and the price will recover given time, but investing is a form of calculated gambling so there is always a risk of losing money on any investment :-)

Yes, the reasons investors who researched the company, industry sector and specific scenarios of GGP's licenses still remain the same, so no reason to not hold if you were planning to on the mid to long term I would think - but it really is up to everyone to ensure they are informed on their investments and be able to make informed decisions - not be influenced by anyone on a BB. I don't have issues with day traders or other more 'energetic' investors though as its part of the game of investing, as long as they're not breaking regulations etc.

I definitely think patience is the key to investing, I prefer a 50/50 split across solid companies with good divs and those with growth potential. With both sets, I try and ensure the companies have solid fundamentals and something of proven value in their offerings.

I avoid buying a company just on takeover rumours for instance if it's just based on a prototype or concept that isn't proven in any way. I do feel this share will prove to be an excellent investment based on all existing data and have invested accordingly, but I'm expecting there to be volatility along with a steady increase and think its a case of being patient during 2020.
