hi dsc1978, I meant am hoping we some good buys today and that I have a personal preference for steady sustained rises so would be happy if Dev settled into that trend as I am a long tern investor and not a day trader :-) Probably a tad hopeful with the pandemic causing havoc, but I still expect Dev to prove to be one of my best investment choices.

Personally I think Newcrest are savvy enough to see the value in buying the remaining stake out in Hav (but hopefully at least leaving us with a royalty etc. as a bonus or some other token of good faith) , helping to put GGP in a good position to explore the other sites and have themselves as the preferential partner for collaboration on any future discoveries such as Scally etc........

I think its fab Paddy, definitely no such thing as bad publicity and we can only benefit and Iove him or hate him - as you say his opinions carry weight .....and the guy is certainly very positive.... ...the higher the SP before any kind of offer emerges the better for us -))

Just saw the twitter exchange between you and Lenigas paddy, he is comparing Hav to Kalgoorlie now and saying 30m OZ or bigger I see.........

Totally agree Jerry - patience and discipline are the key to success in so many areas of life :-)

That approach has never failed me long-term - investors need to take the emotion out of the highs and lows , one method that helps is by ensuring we have researched our investments thoroughly removing doubt from our minds. When GGP has dropped I haven't lost a wink of sleep as I was still sure the fundamentals remained the same as when I invested and eventually we'd be back up and away :-)

Ah so you did mate, sorry I was typing it slowly while eating a sarnie so wasn't reading other posts, great (or conniving) minds think alike :-)

One thought coming to mind is having owned a business where we were constantly bidding for contracts against aggressive competitors.......

One ploy used is where another firm is the most likely recipient of the contract (already servicing that client etc.) you still put in a very competitive bid knowing it will make the win that much more costly for your competitor as the firm with the tender will use your bid to get a better deal for themselves from your compeitior.

So even in a loss you get a 'win' knowing you've exhausted your competitor's resources that much more and the pay-off may be that they can't outbid you on a deal with a much less loaded outcome further down the road......

I never worry about daily fluctuations - the price I'm interested in is when the deal is closed :-)

The 'corporate tension' in the area could be a very profitable factor for us this year :-)

1/ Currently sat outside his bosses office nervously chewing his fingernails waiting to be disciplined for not reining in the recent positive trend in GGP.
2/ Head buried in garden compost heap anticipating and praying for a serious retrace so he can berate everyone and convince us we're about to become bankrupt
3/ Took my advice onboard about watching Ozarks and happily binge watching, in which case lets give him a few more suggestions for TV shows so the miserable so and so cheers up a bit......
