Okay Paul - let's get one thing straight - I am not a "Commie Joe" . I am a Social Democrat who believes that capitalism has a place but that some essentials such as water quality, gas and electricity supplies, safety at work, transport and to some extent medical facilities need to be under strict governmental control. There is nothing wrong with small business and entrepreneurialism & inventions but there is everything wrong with big pharma and huge commissions being paid out to top bankers whereby a small minority of the population struggles to get by while just a few others grab billions.
Trump is a very unpleasant narcissist with a thirst for vengeance against anyone who does not do his bidding. He is a bully and is ripe for an authoritarian dictatorship. I am older than you and remember what life was like under Franco, Tito and Salazar. Disagree and you get dragged from your home by their Secret Police...and vanish!
So, Dear Chap, as I have forecasted.... Beware the Ides of March. You've seen the real USA. Now we have a Prosecutor facing a Corrupt Criminal. The US dollar was doomed and the US , according to you is " s.h.i.t ". Tell that to the Marines Old Boy ! On average the prices marked on goods over here, in dollars, are about the same as you have marked up in pounds! What do you pay for special car tax, fuel per liter, fuel for winter heating, VAT ? The USD is just about the leading currency of the world. We have about the lowest unemployment in over 60 years and our national inflation, since Biden took over, is way down. Look at Trump's personal losses and coming debts. Look at his legal costs all paid for (unbeknowingly) from the funds donated by his Maggamobsters. You really amaze me with your periodic flash of intelligence about Turkey and the Middle East so how you cannot see where your God Emperor is going to end up?. It's not just a question of our Supreme Court being "in his pocket" . There are some brilliant legal scholars already muttering how the Fourteenth Amendment must disqualify him from holding Public Office and you may be sure that the mere thought of the current legal position being destroyed after all the troubles of Revolutionary War with Britain and Civil War over here would brand the current Supreme Court if they went down that line. Finally, and I find this somewhat amusing, that same Court has now decided that our President might have more power at his disposable. Thus if Biden remains in his post until January - who knows what he might have the power to do especially if Democrats take the House. Oh - I nearly forgot to remind you that I forecasted that Keir Starmer would be your leader 2 years ago.. Experience comes with age and you have a lot to learn, Sunshine. Yes we Seniors can get medical problems but hopefully careful management can lead to longevity. What you need to remember is that things like a burst aorta or a stroke can kill a sprightly 40 year old in minutes.
