Last Friday I reckoned I'd made a fair gain on my airline (Volaris) at over 50% in the year. It could well fly higher (no pun intended) but with Trump rattling and a new somewhat "leftie" Mexican President in power ...I'm not sure where our "neighbors" (south or north) might be going. Thus I sold out and bought further Ariana stock last Monday, then at a little over 2p. Murphy's Law immediately kicked in and I got the double whammy. VLRS (=NYSE) went up and AAU went down! Anyway I am already in profit here so anything over 3p within a year would be quite acceptable. But if , by then, it looks only a short while longer to 5p.........??? However thoughts of a 25p hype are overshadowed probably by the years it might take to get there and by then I could be too old to really enjoy such riches.

Good points, VanVan. I think AAU will steadily increase both its assets and its share price. My concern is whether Kerim might be persuaded to sell out to a third party if the offer was high enough (and that could include perhaps a position on the Board of the predator). Pure speculation but the old "bird in the hand" could be more attractive to nourishing a nest-egg for maybe a lot more years until our maestro's retirement. It could also leave the way open to other opportunities within mining or even starting somewhere anew ...he has aptly demonstrated his excellence in geological "know how". Right now many of us are at last seeing some monetary return for our patience, with every reason to hope it will multiply a little faster (and greater) than previously. So the last thing we need is a sell out at the threshold of all the interesting future developments that have been outlined. Thus, for me, I get rather unnerved when something suddenly springs out of the blue...especially scheduled on the day before an AGM. I am mindful that bad things with Stocks always seem to come out towards the weekend (and especially just before "close" on Fridays).

I have never visited that part of Normandy, John. My late father-in-law landed there on D Day and went all the way to Berlin including fighting in the Ardennes . I have visited Bastogne though (Battle of the Bulge). Otherwise our older relatives were mostly involved in the Pacific Theatre.

I can't help wondering about these oncoming "split" meetings. Obviously it means kinda extra effort for interested shareholders to attend two Meetings and one would think that the MD of a Company would ensure that his presence at a pre-arranged AGM would take precedence over traveling elsewhere (unless he feels that his recent excellent revelations have already given us the full picture for now).

I restored a Skoda 100L about 20 years ago (in UK ...rhd). Been trying to get one (or maybe an Estelle type or Rapid ) over my side of the pond for several years but no joy so far. A very few got into into Canada but the climate probably finished them off.. An import from eastern Europe would cost around $5k to ship.

For me the damage was done the moment the result of your referendum supported Brexit. My sterling deposit accounts in UK immediately lost a lot of their international value so there was (and still is) no point in converting my cash over there into USD. I also earn regular fixed amounts... again contracted as UK£ so , converted to dollars I would be getting around 30% less than I did 2 years ago. Significantly each time the media strongly suggested that Britain might perhaps "remain" or there seemed to be a deal on the cards with the EU, your pound went up somewhat and last Autumn it climbed to something like 1.33 against the dollar and I took the opportunity to to transfer some of my cash. I have also purchased some "collectibles" over there which I was able to sell here at profit.

However, with great respect and I appreciate your suggestion, there is no point whatsoever in selling my UK injvestment portfolio especially as I have investments in the same stocks via the NYSE. Were these "blue chip" companies to be seriously failing....that would indicate that all of you over there would be going tits up anyway.

A lot could still happen before 31st October....like maybe a total panic and a cancelling of the Brexit. Remember the referendum was a close result anyway and by all accounts there were a lot of lies and scary stories from both sides.(bit like our 2016 election?). What with the need to find yourselves a new leader and also to persuade 27 other partners that you really know what you are doing.....Westminster will have its work cut out to convince your people by the current time limit, especially if you take off the time for your Summer Parliamentary Recess and the normal round of Party Conferences which take place during September. Remember also that the EU will be themselves occupied (or distracted) by putting together a whole new establishment to start work on November 1st so don't expect any new offers.

Again there is historical effects but in the last 5 years or so new legislation over here has limited this male-orientated desire to wed kids. It doesn't seem to have reached Massachusetts & New Hampshire.....must be their European ancestry! ...droits de seigneur etc (we've been there before on this board, too) Having said that...I'm not entirely sure where you are defining "child". UK marriage age starts at 16 with parental approval ( 18 without) except in Scotland where such approval is not needed.

OK, paulmason, I'll attempt to discuss the two points you have put to me but the politics involved may well cause other contributors to request us to change the subject to mining/Ariana etc...in which case I would desist from further comment.

Firstly, I am sorry that you got the "raving hump" but I don't believe that I offered you untruths or anything that you most probably didn't already know about the scenario over there. I have basically echoed the opinions of other Europeans and, very likely most of the spectators across the globe. So there's no purpose in "shooting the messenger" and it's for the United Kingdom to resolve the situation to the satisfaction of its majority. How "United" you will ultimately become may be another matter entirely, since it appears that the Scots and most Londoners want to stay in the EU.

My answer, as a Democrat supporter and voter, to your two questions is that the situation evolved through a combination of pure venom and male domination by the so-called WASPS - (White Anglo-Saxon Supremacist Protestants) a social group—of typically wealthy and well-connected white Protestants, usually of British descent—in the United States. The group dominated American society, culture, and the leadership of the Republican party until the World War II era. They are well placed in major financial, business, legal, and academic institutions, and had, in the past, close to a monopoly on elite society due to intermarriage and nepotism. The current correlation appears to especially include the "evangelicals" right across the Southern States who are very much supportive of the current President and (those I know well) have a fierce hatred of the last President and a determination to undo everything he attempted...albeit against the latter Republican majority in Congress. They have and want lots of guns to hand....in case.

It is said that absolute power corrupts and in the US that is best demonstrated by the effect of our capitalist system, "reaganomics" if you like, which has virtually eliminated our middle class but left us with a kinda 1% super rich "privileged" society heading up monster global corporations. Some of these people and their underlings have preyed on the ladies and this has led to the establishment of the Me Too Movement and several prominent law suits involving celebrities, politicians and industrials. The gals are rebelling everywhere against male dominance and in my State they have won key positions and already legislating on many issues which the former Republic Administration failed to act ...specifically like gun controls.

I get British Motoring perfectly. My MGB had five hoods in three months until they got one to actually fit. I was kinda betting on several minnow miners and at first Arian Silver seemed attractive until I realized the sort of directors that were leeching at the trough. By error one day I added an "a" to my input and discovered Ariana. I felt at that point that it was not just coincidence and have subsequently built up my holding as and when funds were raised by selling other stocks. I also snapped up residential opportunities after the crash of 2006 (I think) and Las Vegas suffered the worst losses and the most re- possessions of anywhere this side of the pond. House prices in Nevada have now climbed something like 75% since then. My downfall was not getting my money out of UK before your referendum well and truly put the kibosh on the international exchange rate from UK£ to US$. Britons should have been steering the Eurobus instead of trying to leap off while it's moving! So I have to counter by investing with British Companies or anything over there paying fair dividends.

I also have BBVA stock as well ( I opened an actual account with the latter bank in Barcelona long ago and can conveniently transact my business in their Arizona and Mexico..

So....Following the completion of the joint venture, the Nevada complex will be the world’s single-largest gold producer, with a pro forma output of more than four million ounces in 2018, three Tier One2 assets, potentially another one in the making, and 48 million ounces of reserves. I am staying with Ariana and although I envisage a great lot of hopeful comments on this board, I don't really expect any real changes to our sp until next year (unless the Bremainers ultimately win the day...but thats just imho).
