You have a vivid imagination, John ...those sort of pubs are mostly for European and Far Eastern tourists in a very few still-standing former goldrush towns but you might have to pass through two sets of outer doors first to seal the air conditioning. Our smalltown "bars" frequently cater for local cliqués (of one sort or another) , serve American "comfort food" (ew!) and have rows of slot machines installed. All eyes turn when a stranger walks in.

I don't have a Stetson ( though most of my neighbors do plus their concealed weaponry....and that includes the gals!). However I can still be called out, in emergency, by "the powers that be" and that's when I don my broad-rimmed hat with its seven pointed gold star. I can even boast a 3 hour duty in 125F summer heat. You need plenty of water bottles to hand and the circling vultures and ravens keep their eyes on you as well .

It wasn't so much frustration, six moths ago, but concern that my "nest egg" here might go down the pan if AAU went the way of so many other mining minnows over the years and especially those which got a lot of hype. In fact I've looked back through my records and this last week I've been researching the fortunes of some of the companies I have invested in the past. Many were hyped something crazy by the "trade" (Fools, Bulls etc etc - you know where I'm going) but too many are way down in value compared to 5 years ago (but their loyal followers still live on and rant on hopefully whereas I got the hell out in good time). There have often been suggestions that people on these chat boards write under multiple pseudonyms and/or are rewarded for their efforts in ramping or deramping. Regards DJ.

A lot of folk on a lot of Chat Boards here wondered the same but the yellow metal hasn't yet managed to breach the $1500 "magic marker" and continues to lurk around $1418 . There's too much uncertainty about, John. The pog has just ducked below that "magic"1400 and LSE doesn't seem to know the AAU stock buys from the sells. They got mine wrong. I'll say it again...If and when UK resolves its future direction at Halloween and if sterling starts climbing then your prediction might happen. Meantime I'm sticking with a sp of 3p early next year and gold ain't going mountaineering for as long as our dollar keeps its present high value.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, John and if I'd kept those Astons in fine condition they would today bring me in around 300 times what I part-exed them for ..say around a million bucks in total. Even makes hoarding bullion somewhat pointless eh?

Dibs - Gold had gone down when I wrote that but fair comment and I'll be eating crow for dinner (rotflmao). So many times "gold bugs" have been hyping the stuff on chat boards or peddling gold bullion online and frequently applying the fright factor of the impending doom of my country and its currency while the Russians and Chinese are squirrelling away such precious metal. . Consequently I am inclined to "snit" sometimes in retaliation. In truth I once made good profits after hoarding Krugerrands (then politically "not correct"). I am surrounded with working gold mines which provide very useful local employment. There is a helluva lot still to be mined, too!

The supplying BL distributor was not happy and quickly produced their V8 Rover demonstrator to use instead. Good Afternoon M20ASH. Fascinating post of yours and sounds like a good plan...I wish you well! Sailboats are fun - I've owned them for many moons - usually around 22 footers and 4 berths.

I was given a stamp collection of mostly Victorian era Austro & British including colonial and I added to it. One day my father entrusted it to a business colleague (who I didn't know) to apprize and I never got it back before both were deceased.

After many years in Europe I took early retirement via a "golden handshake" and for legal reasons I could not accept paid work thereafter. So I regularly traded in stocks to earn my bread until I eventually reached seniority for my Social Security Benefit (our version of your State Pension). That put a little more icing on the cake and now that I am "home" I can seek consultation fees etc.

Good advice, Dibs, temptation is all too easy when the hype starts on these boards.

M20ASH - You've given us "food for thought" and Tavsan could well be the kicker.

Good move to cash in on some of your shareholding. I'm not surprised at the 4% drop by today's close. I tried to sell at "opening" but my quantity was deemed too big. I did get an offer of 2.55p for 50k but I declined to sell this smaller portion. So I may just hang in here a while for Tavsan to get going but I ain't gonna ride this bull for another 5 years or so, unless we start getting divvi in the interim.

Similarly I've tended to back our dollar's stability rather than dream of gold but you may be right this time about the train leaving the station...except that these days only the privileged 1% may be able to afford the rail fare!.Gold to be sure has tried very hard to penetrate the $1400 but it has not really dramatically breached so far. However Trump generates chaos and historically, those in the Republican chairs of power have benefited financially in times of war. Democrats,who are maligned as liable to spend excessively on social issues and implement too many h & s controls on industry ( which reduces profit margins) usually manage to redress the financial disaster they have invariably inherited from the former administration. But right now we have John Bolton who wants to fight anyone.

Over on ADVFN there are all sorts of comments about gold price and plenty of "cheers" on our share price rise.So we have time to contemplate that "extra Meeting" scheduled for Ariana next week. Are we (as dicinrugby on ADVFN suggests) going to hear of a potential take over? Are we going to see our sp way over 3p next month after we've had the AGM and received further good news from Salinbas et all? Are the "institutions" going to buy into Ariana big time?

My take has been consistently to forecast 2p last Easter and 3p by early next year. Perhaps in a few years (say the 5/6 mooted as the time period when "everything now known is up and running) those of us who are prepared to wait may indeed reap good rewards. But in the meantime I think the following might occur. Firstly a takeover (if Kerim was persuaded he could have his retirement cake and eat it now). Secondly (which might attract those big investors
and which may justify the appointment of Panmure Gordon) a fast-track expansion of the Company and its mining program. This would mean raising a lot of money either by increasing shares (and attracting institutions) or via a discounted scrip issue offered to existing holders or some kind of JV partnership (perhaps continuing with Proccea but on a bigger scale? Or the money could just be a new borrowing.

In the short term we pi's would lose out if an increased issue diluted our sp. Fast-tracking the Company's future operations would perhaps simultaneously elevate the share price. Then there is the matter of further incentive. Right now "dividends" are not on the menu but institutional investors will want a regular return on their money.

Okay folks...this should keep ya'all busy commenting at least until we get to Kerim's appearance next Thursday and may even incite questions at the AGM.

imho We can sell out at profit right now (say 2.3p) and re-invest in some other stock (or even climb aboard "Noel's Train" and own the real metal). Or perhaps wait until next year before selling out at 3p? Or hang in 5 years m

Very nice to see a 7% upping in our sp ...that means I've now got a profit on what I "overpaid" last Monday. A lot more trading of our shares today than we have seen for ages....some substantial buys (and quite a lot of folk cashing in on the recent increase). Either way it bodes well if the coming 27th June Meeting is going to tell us all something really good.

C & B - I don't think we have the institutions invested much at present...as you say we are small fish, so maybe we have a chance of growth meantime. They usually expect divvies and as you must be aware from this chat board it was considered not to be on the menu until many of the Company goals were attained in the fullness of time..

Sorry about all your rain. We've not had any for at least a month but we can get flash floods during July & August which can be very dangerous for unsuspecting motorists when a wall of floodwater suddenly rushes down a previously dry river bed and washes vehicles right off the highway. Today we had "clear blue" skies and 115F. It can reach 125F during high summer....but that's "fake news" 'cos global warming is just a myth (according to our Clown-in-Chief).
