Our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with QuotedData's Edward Marten has just been released. Listen here.
New welding technique may prove to be a vital part of SMR's future production - the following is from Sheffield Forgemasters. Let us hope RR can get part of the production contarct.
It said its pioneering industrialisation of Local Electron-Beam Welding (LEBW), means it is now possible to take less than 24 hours to complete four, thick, nuclear-grade welds, a process that up to now has typically required a year of work to complete.
It is becoming clear that the future of SMR's is looking more possible within the Gov's time frame.
Sorry if all this has been said before.
Prospective get a good write up today on the BBC site. Stagecoach use them and their AI generated / collected data. I can't find who own Prospective are there any links with journeo? If not time we did some JV's or just take them over!
Journeo doing some steady work though.
Someone thinks there is a penny or two of upside with ESKEN. A bit of faith or just averaging down. All will be revealed after the court injunction has been resolved, with luck in esks favour. I feel it is a cheap shot to grap the business on the cheap. Take care all.
Our CEO has beefed up the board quite considerably over the last six months with some high ish profile business professional and those with good business and scientific links. These people would not join a sinking ship or even one marooned in stagnant water. They are not joining SCLP just for 12 months of salary to then be abandoned by a failed company. They must have been sold more than a dream to join the board. We have seen bumps in the news and share price road along the way, this month is no different. Will we have a commercial product or two to sell? Will we have that long hoped for cancer treatment - not one of us PI's know - but we hope for both. Buy some shares - no reason not to. Sell some shares no reason to sell - unless you need the dosh or can't wait for THE news which may be good or maybe not! To date not one of us know, confidence is not based on the views of a few posters on this board. I will wait for some genuine news before I make a decision on the viability of the company. Take care all, enjoy the Rugby.
The cat is out of the bag! Bangor Uni is working with RR developing SMR's. Lots of speculation over the last few months about this research but no actual specific data. Today it comes through the back door. A BBC article about power generation. Bangor Uni developing a nuclear power source the size of a grain of rice, this is being sent to RR, who are developing the generation unit as big as a car - for the moon!! Presumably it can then be scaled up for use on terra firma, exciting times.
Pre covid Southend / ESKN appeared to be making progress and I felt was a fair bet to progress into a viable company based on air travel and the bio mass business. They seemed to be overcoming poor management decisions and the greed of one board member. Then covid started at the worst possible time for eskn in its recovery phase.
Now for the future - management appear to be trying and capable , debt a major issue, time an issue ie the business has to pay wages, interest on dept at the same as developing a robust business before time / cash runs out. The airport can make money in the future, passengers numbers slowly increasing as well ancillary income as announced today. Will eskn make it? I hope so but time is against it. Good luck eskn management - lots of long term share holders (me included) hope so.
My experience has always been positive at Halfords stores, good customer service, speedy action and reasonable value.
I think problem solving in large companies is often difficult as no one has complete control as in a small co where a manager is on hand to say yes or no - quickly. I hope HFD do well, the takeover of National Tyres will take a while to dovetail into the co but will prove to be a good buy in the ling term. NT was getting - how do you say tired of a tyre company - but it was. My local is always busy but not the best value
My thought - for what it is worth- is that todays rise is the Trev Brown effect! Braveheart up massive and so peeps may think IGAI is his next multi bagger. As long term holders hope. ( me included!) I would rather hope it is something more fundamental, but we will see. Fingers crossed for something positive / business related.
hello mandy bandy, made me giggle behind the totally non pc letter! you will have to resign when the boss lady reads it.
No doubt you are prepare for your spanking when she finds out who wrote it. Take care - lets hope OFCOM do follow up on your advice and allow BT to develop their systems and structures for the UK and global good. We want the UK to succeed not wither and die, as it appears lots do.
First easyjet flight of the year today from Southend. - I understand. Well its a start , it might help to pay the interest on the loan!
Just time to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2023.
We all knew SCLP would be a roller coaster of a share a long time ago. We like the science, well the small percentage I understand anyway. We like the potential and love the prof, her foresight and vision, her steady team building and the move to Oxford. 2022 has been good. We all hope 23 will save many lives and give many families hope. If it puts a few quid in the bank that would be a real bonus. Look after yourselves and your families.
ps I assume the markets will close at 12-30 tomorrow so should we predict an RNS for 12-31 - why not 7-0 am??? Have fun everyone and no falling out in 23.
