RE: SP vs Cash in Bank6 Mar 2025 11:44
Shorts have done well here, the 2 notified positions were taken out at over 100% to the current share price. Qube seem to be trending downward from a disclosed position. The trouble is the market is so weak right now, they have no need to hurry to buy these back. I would not go by the transactions printed here, many are inter dealer especially the large ones.
Having given this some thought, there are 33M shares that need a new home. I would like to see Ceres buy 10M of these at a cost of £7M. I think they can afford this, and if ever they do need to issue shares in the future, they could either hold these in treasury or issue at a higher price. I think this would send the most bullish statement possible to the market, more than a director buy. Since they have £100M cash, £7 seems affordable. There is a good chance that the shorts will tender for the shares from Bosch to cover this. I cant really see much more down side for shorts, given the asymetric risk. This one is done I would say. Shorts are destroying this market, and the woes are not limited to Ceres, Hydrogen or even non profitable companies.
