If I was Mooky I'd be looking to minimise my losses and dump the business with as little impact to my personal fortune as I could.
Seriously though, I'm more interested in if I should renew my Unlimited Card and risk it not being honoured should the business get sold off.
I agree with Wents' in regard to the price moving in any significant manner any time 'soon'.
I'm confident that my commitment to Alien will come good and make me money on my investment. I'm holding steadfast in part because I have previously sold up and missed an SP jump in other shares simply because I'm not privy to the mysterious ways of the market and lost out on a rise that I was unable to recover through blind trading and chasing profit to make up the difference.
My current position and mindset on the best course of action to follow is to go back to basics and remember why I put my money here, the potential and risk associated with Alien being successful in bringing the projects to fruition and ultimately rewarding my faith feels safe as far as an AIM listed explorer with no current income stream can be.
I am impatient and would love the SP to be 10 p next week, 20p the week after, £1 by the end of the year but clearly this is unrealistic. What keeps me here waiting is that the projects being developed are varied enough, progressing at a speed that I'm comfortable with and focused on product that's seemingly in demand by the wider market and that we can access at a volume and cost that could individually make Alien a serious amount of income.
It's nice that people come here to share their general view of the market, opinions and strategy on the businesses interests, I personally take a lot from the general chit-chat published here, though the arguing/name calling is a little boring.
I'm holding. Confident. Hopeful. Amused.
I wish you all good fortune, even if you want this to crash and burn and you just want to feel good about your predictions. Whoever predicts the future successfully I hope you get what you need out of being right and it satisfies what you are here for.
Me, I just want my gamble to come good and have a wedge of money to spend for my blind faith.
Withholding price sensitive information isn't the same as taking your time to prepare and release it.
Surely you have to prove that the information was received, processed and then prepared ready for release then ultimately withheld intentionally to fall foul of this rule. In addition this would have to be proven.
Is there a rule or sufficient oversight that would force a timely release of results after lab processing as it seems the opinion here is that the lab would release the data and Alien would instantly prepare and report it to the market?
There's some mad people on here, I think it's great really though. Never a dull moment.
I got all excited and played the market like a game when the COVID crash happened. Made some money, lost some money, learnt a lot and still learning.
I come here only to get done info and listen to opinions to help me make a better decision.
In the past I voiced my uneducated opinion and tried to add something to the overall discussion, even make predictions but ultimately I realised it's useless.
I decided to go heavy in UFO based solely on potential risk/reward and that the business makes me feel it's a safe bet. The projects we have seem like they have legs and are for in-demand materials that could be sold on, minimal risk of going out of fashion you could say.
If the business is managed correctly, IOCA achieving miner status for example, my investment will be worth more than I paid (I hope), much more.
My feeling is that despite me being currently underwater and potentially in a situation in the future where the business is not progressing as I would imagine I would still have ample opportunity to sell up at a loss if I choose to, but not one where I would be thinking I was a fool for taking the gamble on investing in UFO. I'd be disappointed should this be the situation but I've already said before that even if I lost everything I'm OK with that. I've already made peace with myself in that I will lose all my money.
I've owned several of my own businesses. Owned a few as part of a team. Managed/run businesses for others. I've been employed at pretty much every level within these businesses and in roles covering pretty much all departments, one thing pertinent to investing in any business that my limited experience has taught me is that you can plan for the future but you can't control it. Sometimes riches just fall in your lap. Sometimes that 'sure-thing money spinner' ends up getting ripped from under you and you can't do s#1t to stop it.
This business needs time and no doubt more money to get where it wants to be and to eventually where it will pay me back handsomely for my faith in the UFO team.
It seems that patience is lacking for both sides of the boards posters.
I want 10p tomorrow, isn't likely, but it would be nice. Predictions, that's all.
I fail to see why the business would exist simply to stretch out getting work done and making some money. Lying about progress. Purposefully behind inactive to swallow up cash when making more money from done money is always the better option...
I just want some free info from people who have more time on their hands than I do.
Good luck everyone. Not that luck exists.
There's an updated presentation on there with project highlights and progress.
I'm sh*t deep here and would like 10.32p
I've not a clue what I'm doing with investing but I feel this company has legs and makes me feel 'safe' when I think about its projects... The product selection, the locations we have and the current price / risk / reward are all positives in my eyes.
Though for transparency and clarity I've already accepted that any money I have invested I will not get back. I'm comfortable losing it all, I'll be disappointment no doubt, but I'm gambling here for a big payday as a reward for the faith I've got in the business - pure and simple.
Not worried
Relaxed
Confident
Aquiring
... it's just occured to me how silly these boards are.
I enjoy reading peoples analysis of each companies general commercial health, their calculations of value, expectations and opinions on the companies development, assessment and impact of its decisions - after the fact. It's like listening to blokes at the bar talking about the days footy results.
I think that some people take conversation on these boards way too personally... I'm alright with some level of community policing as I believe that no one should be marginalised or discriminated against and when driven by hate it needs to be addressed.
Catching people out is like a sport here. Checking people's posting history. Calling bull**** on their predictions. All good banter... The reality is, I just want to make some money... I think non of these hijinks has any effect on the performance of the SP and my potential winnings but it is entertaining reading through these posts.
Setting up a separate company to expedite DSO delivery seems like a positive move, it takes the mining responsibility and focus off of Alien itself and allows the business to assess its options and the management team responsible on their ability to deliver while simultaneously guiding Aliens priorities as the mining team advance their project and require additional data or support and hoc.
I feel happy that there's more interest in UFO now that we have broadcast that we've found silver in a silver mine...
... We've now got silver at surface and a team underground looking to get the mine back to being in a condition to dig it out once, they clear the water and check their maps.
All in, underwater, hopeful, not stupid, not bothered. Holding.
....ahhhh!
Apologies, I've got your point.
Using 10p as a literal milestone of cashing in irrespective of any other factors would not seem sensible if it were 'clear' that company performance and news flow is positive and would presumably increase the sp beyond the 10p mark.
I personally would look at impending news irrespective of my publicly broadcast targets. I think it's amusing seeing people getting slated for their opinion or position or decision making and getting called out. I've set 10p as a realistic target of where i believe the sp could go and it would provide enough profit for me to never regret pulling out early, as would the 7p mark or anywhere in between.
I can say one thing for certain, I'd never use charting to dictate any decision i make with my investments. I feel its like reading a horoscope for guidance on relationship issues.
Just out of interest what type of science pays your bills?
@smiller
I too am a scientist, only by virtue of the enjoyment I get trying to understand the workings of the world, I'm not qualified or an expert in any field but definitely live my life by scientific principles ...
The point I was making about decimalisation, I get that you use the system in work and probably day to day....BUT....
....I'm onboard with the decimal system but the minute I try and buy timber from a supplier its a 4 x 2 etc, the subject of height and weight, I decided a number of years ago I'd only use kg and cm's but it seems everyone else is using stones and feet... while on the subject of height, and maybe other residents of the UK may testify, its completely random whether bridges are sign posted in Feet and inches, Metres or a combination of both.
My possible exit is based on an equation. When the sp hits 10p I get 10 times my investment if my purchase was 1p. The issue exits based on progress and achievement is that it relies on a list of criteria that may or may not directly change sentiment and a positive change in SP that would result in a better profit margin on your initial investment.
The reality of the situation, for me at least, is that I don't care how Bill gets me my 10p to a certain extent. If my shares were worth 10p because he started selling solar powered toasters on street corners then so be it.
@smiller
I too enjoy the 'human aspect', it facinates me that we all have these interesting quirks that we've all got, that we only have because of our ability (as a species) to think beyond what we as a species have defined as basic functions to satisfy all animals need to stay alive.
10 is a good number and makes sense here because of the current SP but you are right in that the figure is convenient, stating you're in till 9.87 or 10.31 would feel a little silly and in my opinion would make me ask why that particular number!?
I would assume that it would be a number that would result in that person's holding becoming a round number also...
...I want 2.35 so that my holdings would be worth 100,000...
You can't win. Particularly because you would only use 10 as a round number as a result of decimalisation, remove that factor and 12 becomes an equally valid milestone.
While I'm at it.... I'm British, can we all agree to just move to and use the decimal system rather than painfully holding onto imperial.
It's just annoying.
I initially bought sub 1p in 2020 then got too excited during the spike and bought more on the rise destroying my initial 'bargain' price entry.
Hindsight, it was foolish of me but I'm no trader / life long investor and enjoyed the experience and lesson when the price flopped despite being heavily underwater - pretty much where I have been for some time.
I've then traded a number of times and increased my holding when possible after coming to the conclusion that the business was a good a risk as any other.
I've continued to purchase over the last year dropping my average in the process.
I've stopped aquiring and I'm heavily commitment to UFO based on nothing but my perception that the business has the potential to make good money.
My target is ever changing but I'm off the opinion that I'm leaving my money here till 10p and think that it's achievable again based on nothing but my opinion... Though I can't rule out hitting 7p and deciding to take my money and run.
If I lost it all then so be it.
The EH RNS is encouraging, I've already accepted that l could lose all my money and there's a little while to go before we hit double figures..
Sh*t deep in UFO, holding, not bothered,
10p+ here we come...I bought at 066
@Turbo... I've worked hard sometimes too, the type of hard work that gets you beyond blisters because your hitting/turning/pushing/pulling something with something again and again. Throwing stuff in the back of a lorry for 12 hours a day on minimum wage was pretty hard. As was doing data entry, admin and error checking compliance documents essential for that weeks invoicing.
I've worked and continue to work very hard on learning how to not work hard, still learning.
No disrespect to you, I don't know what you do, Its not my business anyway, nor do I believe is it relevant. I could list multiple scenarios of people's position, work ethic, experience, business idea etc that could be used as a ticket to validate their opinion on basically anything...
I'm 'investing' in UFO to make money and it's nothing more than a gamble I feel OK about taking. I'm waiting for something to happen... Either I make money, lose all my money or decide to pull out and cut my losses because of X Y Z... If someone makes a comment/argument that makes me change my position I'm out of here.
So, what I'd like to know specifically from you Turbo is;
1) With reference to your position and experience why did you buy 12 million shares in a company with no clear published plan of action to deliver a defined set program of works over the short, medium and long term that will ultimately deliver 'value to share holders'?
2) As you are now without a vested interest in the business and are actively posting I assume you still consider the business to be worth your time. So what exactly do you want to happen with the business that would make you retake your previous position?
... I'm wondering if something you may say will make me reconsider my gamble and sell up.
I still do not see an issue with the 'spinning plates'. With the apparent delays in developing a single site or resource is it not prudent to then shift focus on other projects to maintain a level of operational efficiency?
I don't work in upper management for an extremely profitable privately owned company like Turbo so I don't know if I'm qualified to even comment. What it sounds like is being described is a business plan.
@Turbo... Have you enquired directly with the business to see if they'll share/publish their current business plan?
I'm off a similar opinion to Normbeef.
Diversity with or without an established income is prudent.
If we only focused on iron ore and it tanked there would be uproar over the approach we took. Progressing each possible revenue stream is an insurance policy against unforseen and unpredictable changes in any market.
The market doesn't understand?
We are the market and I agree... I don't understand.
All I know is that generally demand for something pushes up prices and lowers when saturated by sellers. If you have the ability to control the market then this can be influenced...
... I've bought and hold UFO shares because I expect that they'll be worth more than I paid at some point.
I think I've been honest and open on here and other share chat boards I've posted on about my feelings, experience, expectations, understanding and hopes on my 'investments' and also commented on the amount of complete nonsense, belligerent and sometimes simply hateful comments that people post for any number of reasons but always because they feel it's worth their time to type out and have their opinion be heard.
The point I want to make, if you get to here without falling asleep during my lecture, is that I've said before and I'll say again... It's all just a gamble. Irrespective of how solid you feel this or any other company is, opinion is just opinion - argue all you want. It seems pointless to me.
I wish everyone good luck, hope UFO will become attractive to others and therefore increase the SP so I can sell and make money. I'm confident. Not worried. Holding. Just happy I'm still here.
4p by December 2022... My crystal ball said so.
