Annual report29 Jun 2016 10:34
Just out. To be honest, they could almost have cut and pasted last year's report.
Points to note:
1 Cash and cash equivalents remain above the current market capitalisation (by a margin)
2 Polymetalic shares stated as about 11m euros as of 31st December 2015. As of today, that is more like 17m
3 Other investments amounted to 1.1m euros. I suspect that is more like 1.5m now
All of which suggests net current assets are about 25.5m euros or around £21m at current exchange rates. What is the current market cap.?
As usual the question here is what will release the value and here I will take issue with them. They have indicated that they have yet to find an operation that is suitable and that they can add value to. Sorry, but a buyer with cash of resource companies over the last few years has been like a kid in a sweet shop. There have been LOADS of bargains around. Some of which will go bust without money (or even with) but some which could benefit enormously from a cash injection. Sitting on cash in the resource sector, particularly gold, is going to be a bad thing to do over the next few years and they should use their stake in POLY as proof of this.
The way in which value will be released here is to either sell their POLY stake and return it to investors (unlikely) or find a great (gold/silver) asset to invest in. I am not holding my breath but you have to say that this is et another 'binary' AIM share - worth very little for ages and then 'pop' up and goes. The question is how long is 'ages'?
