Much as i thought the members would follow the unions recommendation, and a good balance had been met, i also believe the government basically has no choice, given that Royal Mail is now a private company, and both parties have gone through the proper steps of mediation and that process seems to have worked, I see no reason for the government to intervene and c**k things up. I also agree with idea that only a small rise may be seen off this news.

yeah that's a good result, as for turn out, i'm surprised it wasn't a little higher, although i can see the point of view where people just figured it was a foregone conclusion, and a rubber stamp, having gone through independent moderation. to be honest, they'd be stupid to turn it down, too much has been put into this on both sides to reach the stage they are at now, things can't carry on the way it is, and if an agreement can't be reached, expect the corporate engine to take over and start culling the areas that aren't sustainable.

ah, i see your maths, i tend to look at the income from my shares as a % of gain against my whole portfolio, provided i don't sell the shares at a loss, then i'm good. very tempted to throw a few more � into this this morning, if i can get a 137 buy i might take it, given that, as you said, it's goign to pay me 11% of that extra investment straight back as a dividend!

i held fast to the small amount of funds i have, i was not going to bite again unless it went sub 880, i could have averaged down a little, but don't want to tie up any more in here than i have to, 877 was my limit buy, and that would have given me a very attainable average for early departure, perhaps a dip after the ex-divi date, who knows!

you've done well there temple, 20% divi on your investment is amazing, i don't know what mine is, but my avg is 162, so probably should have seen this coming and skipped out last week in the 170's

oh i see, performance as expected, with additional costs reducing the profit, and additional planned investment to develop the business cuts the divi back a bit, meaning the market knee-jerked !

I think this is just market trends, and RMG following the heard right now slightly annoyed i didn't get out a couple of pence before my target, because now we're at the point (and slightly lower) than i would have bought back in oh well, them's the breaks, still a good divi coming, and i'm sure the SP will recover in time
