It’s just a bit of fun, Aim is “here” to have a laugh and sidetrack the discussion while Mogger is “here” to post the latest relevant information about the Sealion development and those associated with said development. There will naturally sometimes be a conflict.

I can’t be the only one on this board that thinks this assertion that the share price is set by “Uni kids pocket change” is somehow an attempt to achieve something.

I don’t buy into this theory and I can’t quite work out what advantage there is to be gained by promoting this theory. It’s not like the usual barking caravan or bottles of chateau lafite rothschild nonsense . Is there a subtle message that I’m missing here?

Roll on January 2025, four months to go and we should have a clear picture of if this is actually going to go somewhere. Don’t get me wrong, I see all of the activity by the parties involved, but until they pull the trigger I can’t bring myself to think this will come good.

55p would be my “target price” if, and this is definitely dependent on if, we get both FID (including funding) and a favourable OM outcome.

Whether we see those two events and the share price responds is another question.

Yes, as a species we do like to fixate on doom and gloom, anyone recall the hole in the ozone layer which supposedly would mean we would all have to keep out of the sun’s rays or suffer blistering sunburn followed by skin cancer.

I suspect that Mogger was originally invested in MOG when Rockhopper bought them out.

Just a wild hunch that’s why he posts on just this share.

My take on this is that you can only tax a capital gain at the point that the gain is crystallised. If you apply the same principle to the pending tax liability that FIG have on Rockhopper then it is a non issue as we have never received the free carry sum that it relates to.

Clearly there is a disagreement on this point, hopefully it can be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction, if not then it’ll end up in a tax tribunal for binding adjudication.

Completely agree on the expectation of drilling Isobel after/during the development and initial production from Sealion.

There has been much talk of Borders and the SFB moving ahead once Sealion gets started but it may as well be on a different part of the planet. Isobel on the other hand is adjacent and although it is too far away to tie into Sealion directly it is near enough to benefit from all the supporting work that would need to be in place for Sealion. Similarly the rig specification and most importantly the ownership.

Argos old acreage stands a better chance if JHI can agree a way forward. Too early to say at this stage but a share of that for a free carry or some other combination to fund a couple of drills would be worthwhile for Navitas and Rockhopper. Although it has been said before, the Navitas MO is all about developing existing discoveries rather than exploration.

We will see, 2024 is turning out to be quite eventful.

TCM, many many moons ago I was secondary school chess champion aka “King of the nerds”. I just enjoy the strategy, haven’t played for years.

TCM is playing a game, a series of moves or statements designed to provoke a predictable response.

In the Blackburne Shilling Trap it at first appears that black is playing with carefree abandon but as the game proceeds then it is White who has been caught off guard.

Remember that posts made many weeks or months ago all play a part of the story for TCM.

I’m just sitting and waiting patiently for us to break through 15p, and close above. The chattering on this board is usually interesting or entertaining but alas it is sometimes boring or tedious, I’ll leave you to decide how to categorise this particular confrontation.

I have to say that I for one always look forward to Mogger’s posts as they quite often highlight some new information about Rockhopper.

In an RNS taken from last year it shows Development Unclarified 2C of 443 MMbbls.

This is then summarised as...

The Development Unclarified category of 443 MMbbls 2C are the additional resources contained on the North Falkland Basin held by Navitas and Rockhopper, including Sea Lion and Isobel/Elaine, that could be developed under future phases but for which there is currently no published development plan.

Would Navitas and Rockhopper need to fully evaluate these fields first and go through the whole FEED and FID process before developing them or is the whole process much shorter once Sealion is up and running?

I am asking as I don't know BUT logic would suggest that as Sealion production starts to wain after a few years production then it would make sense to bring on additional nearby fields in order to maintain the initial peak production numbers seen when a field is new. Thereby making full use of any leased FPSO, this could surely be done at a much lower FID threshold than the initial develpment of Sealion.
