The difference today in the share price movement between these two shows how actually having a future plan vs speculation results in strength after yesterday’s pullback across markets as a whole.

I think Bor has a future but it is realistically a decade behind Rkh.

One possible reason for the strength of the share price over the past few days of this new year is the “new” money that has just appeared in people’s SIPP accounts.

When someone contributes to their SIPP via a personal contribution then there is a basic tax rebate that HMRC chip in direct to the same SIPP account. This happens periodically throughout the year. So come the 1st January 2025 this would mean a pot of available money to investors to buy Rockhopper shares.

I used simplistic as a pejorative which in this instance is appropriate as we are talking about an oilfield development that hasn’t even been signed off yet, never mind financed. Even then we would still have to see a lot of pieces of the jigsaw fall into place to make any valuation meaningful.

So in this instance a DCF valuation is simplistic, but how else to value this?

Happy New Year to all, someone may have covered this elsewhere already but the model used for DCF is pretty simplistic. Rather than repeating what someone else has already done a better job off I would point people to look it up on the investopedia site.

I’ve mentioned this before but for me this is now a buy all the way up to 50p, and by that I mean I am still actively buying chunks of shares.

Once we get further news I will re-evaluate, as for selling I won’t even consider selling a single share until we get an appraised and CPR’ed Isobel. I expect that will be well after Sea Lion production commences.

“people” would be the plural of person and they are individually countable so we use fewer not less.

Think of less snow and fewer snowflakes, snow is a collective term, snowflakes are individual.

Or less management and fewer managers.

Nothing against TCM per se but speaking from experience referring to oneself in the third person, illeism, can really get on people’s tits.

If we ever do wake up to a positive FID for Sea Lion then where do we think the share price will settle?

I only ask as I suspect that even if this doubles to 26p it will, for me at least, be a raging buy. With everything that comes with FID, not least funding, and all that is to follow in the two to five years after, thinking about Isobel here, then the potential is staggering. So 26p after a positive FID would be a buying opportunity for me while those short term holders sell into a 100% rise.
