I've been involved here for many years. Yes....Russia does indeed want to see the West dependent on it as an energy source. That is how it exerts influence on unwilling neighbours. It held Ukraine to ransom last year and cut off supplies on a fictitious " unpaid bill" which it manipulated. Putin is probably the most cunning and devious threat to world stability of all oligarchs. He builds dependence and uses it as leverage. His alliance with Syria has changed the Middle East and the demographic of the whole of Europe . It is imperative we decouple ourselves from Russian influence through energy ( essentially gas) . Oil can be purchased from many sources. LNG or LPG cannot be as easily sourced . Big gas pipelines feed the West from Russia. Russia wants to expand ..Crimea was ideal. NATO are on constant watch in bordering countries and we even have to chase them off in our territorial waters ( only last week again). Yes. Islandmagee and other storage facilities are ideal. If the govt. goes down the seduction cheap Russian route then they are opening us up to future mayhem. I sound like a conspiracy theorist but I genuinely believe Putin's Russia is the greatest threat to the world. He is utterly without morality. ( ex KGB ...no idea how many people he has disposed of since being " elected" !) . Adrian would be doing the world ( and himself and us) a favour if he pushed this aggressively on the political front. I have no idea how much gas the UK needs but if we are to flourish then we need to cultivate energy independence from Russia ( and indirectly the EU). Nuclear is a gross error for many readon includinf economic and security ( I remember Chernobyl so well). We need rid of nuclear. Unfortunately we have some politicians in power who see short term as usual. I hope we have a few with wisdom ( I have reams of facile letters from ministers in my house regarding so many matters. I am amazed govt. manages to even limp along). Govts. work on cridis management but energy can't be run this way. Trump knows it and is cultivating a new " isolationism" of sorts. I have been let down too many times to decide for or against..so I just rant and complain and let it be. Nice article. Governments generally work on crisis management... after the crisis. The number of incompetent and arrogant politicians I have met has left me astounded. Much of what they do is for media attention/ glory/ money/ etc...That's par for the course in this world but politicians have the luxury of laziness and arrogance available to them if they choose it. Gas shortages and price spikes happen because the circumstances are largely unprepared for. It's the nature of this world and non-competence/arrogance of political elite ( sound like a Marxist !!) You sre well-intentioned yourself. It is only fair that you do not lose out here.You hold a very large amount like me-perhaps more . You have been supportive all the way through-more so thsn I have been. You do not deserve to lose out here. Ibthink you stand at a 30% loss now. Mine is more tgan teice thst but that was my doing. I do not feel the surprise Placing was fair to you. It has literally shaved 26% off your very big investment overnight and itvis unlikely to recover for a while IMO ( flippers). I have known AP a long time through Trin. I reserve judgment regarding competence as an MD as I have no idea . As a person he has only ever been civil and supportive to me. But this is business and money-red in tooth and claw. It can all go belly-up however decent a person is if they f*** it up. Business and friendships are not always good bedmates . I don't blame u for thinking twice re. AGM. Weigh benefit vs. cost-personal and financial. I think it could be fairly heated. I too have lost a lot nominally and don't expect it back in a hurry. I do agree that commitment is reflected in shareholding. I don't like the non-commital nature of tge NED's.. One senior NED is a practising solicitor with many other demands and tge others seem in the same boat. NED's are sometimes free-riders and that concerns me a little. I don't know if this is at all true here. Too much is just not communicated...the very thing criticised by AP of the old board. Two cash-calls...the very thing criticiised then too. It's same old. I am in same boat as you financially but you gave more support than me and don't deserve this. I tend to be cautious with relationships regarding money. A lot needs to be answered next week. I'm ot sure whether to go or not. My skin has thickened and I am very cynical. Too many promises unfulfilled. " Condemn the deed and not the doer". Sure. L and G do indeed sell in tranches. Not saying it was them of course. Probably 25-50 tranches of Trin when they stupidly sold out. It would be in an RNS next week if so.

I don't disagree. But it should not be forgotten that he has also sold to himself. He holds many shares unless he has disposed..difficult without an RNS announcement . And that would be the end of things. I don't believe he is a charlatan aiming to fleece people at all. But the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. And Tony Blair did very well didn't he. People are interesting to say the very least. I don't know how marketable this really is now. It was sold as a dead-cert. That's good marketing for you. Timeshares and Endowments did very well. I have no idea who would fund this either nit it dorsn't mean no-one will. This is all no-man's land stuff right now. These are all things to be asked and potentially clarified at AGM and post-meeting. Clinically-sharply-civilly-no stone unturned. No genuine question unasked. If someone takes responsibility for peoples' wellbeing after the sales pitch then they must be civilly held to account-especially as we are notionally losing fortunes. And after such clandestine cash-calls and a feverish sales-pitch. All speculation atm....good or bad.

As far as I am concerned it all comes down to the integrity of Mr. AP.

It could be L and G but they ould already have sold. 2 very large sales last week. No reason to think it is them. It could be a very disgruntled investor getting out. I know one ir two. Could've been me ( but wasn't). I would like to say that if it was their exit then it could be for a number of reasons. Nit always detrimental. They sold a humungous amount of Trin at 2-3p . Just before it was refinanced. They got it wrong. Sometimes tgey also have parameters which force them to sell. On the other hand I agree that I would want a big company in here in most cases and not exiting. I share your desire to still have them here. I have a whacking amount to lose too like you. I felt like selling that much but didn't. I dearly hope AP really and honestly knows what he's doing here.I know what's written and said snd promised. That's the easy bit. Good fair post.I have a lot of background knowledge and 6 times as many shares. 75% notional loss. I am sadly more worried.

Having pondered over what I wrote last night I am now considering whether the company will be a going concern without " hopefully" a new tenant. Quote from RNS. Is this going to be yet another business built on promises and left with us holding the can? I very much appreciate the sensible arguments of Setanta. The measured response of DWM. The justified cynicism of Kezzman. The anger of McC. I share them all. I prob hold almost as much as any of them. The worry I have is not the " don't invest if not prepared to lose"( I don't agree). Who is prepared to lose that much? Only the very rich or terminally ill as an example. It's the fear of non-competence and failure which may be the case. Why all these sudden cash-calls with no time to include existing shareholders? And probably above all it's the broken promises. That's not forgiveable at all. Let us hope I am wrong anf that this" junk status " share does not dissolve. " Hopefully" find funding is not good enough I am afraid. I " hope" some posters' optimism turns out to be justified. I have become cynical now. Let us hope my ( and others') very justified cynicism turns out wrong. I have been fleeced before. I have previous form. I hope to be wrong. Don't bother shooting me down..waste of a post. Hold your own view. I just really don't know any more.
