Well I have been in Glencore since 2012 but paid too much. I bought some at 76p but not enough to dent my £4’ ish initial purvhases. Now holding a great deal on a 10% loss. On profit elsewhere but not pleasant to lose. My experiences of Glencore revolve around its intense volatilityeven though it is generally an astutely run company.. I appreciate the dividends but it has taken a while to climb back up to near tge £4 mark and I am not sure if the Katanga issue warrants such uncertainty or not. Glencore benefits higely from copper prices which will only rise steeply if the mines are temporarily or even permanently closed. Glencore has a habit of coming out of issues smelling sweetly. Goldman Sachs initiated a “ fail” rating on Glencore back in 2015 ( I think) with a target price of 56p and it was all hype. I’m not sure about DRC because Mr. Gertler has been in here for 20 years I think . He tgerefore knows Glencore well. He has a game plan but I don’t know what it is.But even if tge mines closed tgen Glen would make a projected 50% recoup of losses through rise in copper prices as DRC provides the VW/BMW copper you mention ( 40%? Of world production). So.......I have wrotten my longest post ever but you all probably know all this.

Glencore been going longer than I care to mention. Thrown all my trades away now as it’s all electronic. People think what they like. I’ve been trading their shares since I had the money to do so. Erm....sorry. I’ll stay with what I know is the case.

Yes. It is the truth. Started late 90’s. Dip in and out. No stamp duty first attracted me and it was a seriously robust company even then. Mark Rich ( deceased) ran it. He was a US tax exile. Lived in Israel as couldn’t go back to US. His daughter died at 26 of cancer. Very sad. Big charity based after hrr now. Glen was merger of 2 companies. Well before Xstrata. Always been a veey tight shilp ( until refinancing 2 yrs ago). Very very solid but very very volatile. Good traders’ share but can catch you unawares sometimes.

Hi I have been biying Glen on and off for 20 yrs. I sold my PFC at breakeven. I bpught back into Glen before divvy. I bought a pretty penny and am sitting on a large amount . I buy in and out of Glen. I screw up sometimes and do ok other times. I like to do as much research as poss ( and still screw up at times) but oil is set to rocket in June on supply deficit. Copper is firm and firming. DRC may cause copper to become firmer. Zinc stable. Glen looks pretty firm as a share and should be at £3:90-£4. It will stay bolatile but DRC problem is being used to make the Congo govt. extra bucks and pre-election kudos. If they shut mines they have no -or little-GDP . All a ploy. Glen win if they shut mines as copper price rockets. So....with metal prices and oil on the rise...and a 10 cent divvy ...it seemed good idea in principle to buy in. It’s sticking at 3:60 as I thought today. See a change just before close . Next week should rose all being well. Hope you are on a profit..I’m not yet.

So glad u made your whammo profit on PFC. Well done mate. Glen is different but a real plaything-been investing here 20 yrs now. All algorhythm these days though. Hate it. I hold a lot more of these than PFC!! Great divvy!! Next one due in 4 months. Re. Short-term...Dow flat. Copper pretty flat too. I suspect same for s/p tomorrow but as it’s Friday I would be wary of an engineered drop. Brokers are divided but I see Congo as sabre-rattling. Too much at stake to close mines and even if Katanga etc went down tgen copper would rocket. 40% or so of world copper ( and cobalt)!! Glen would reap high copper cost rewards from elsewhere. Liberum are always miserable crew anyway. . £4 up is fair and underrated forecast. (All but one broker) Liberum need to get out more . £3:59 is still cheap buy . I’m sitting on a fair loss but Glen moves so fast I could be on profit in a day . Anything below £3:60 is a cheapo buy...I told u this 4 months ago when u were losing on PFC. Hope you in at this price. Because it’s freaky BHol. friday I think we can expect any direction tomorrow though. Me? I expect little change...but I’m often wrong. Pleased for you re. PFC

Audited Q1 results results due in a few days. Onshore asset sale news (approx $4m ...probably more now that oil is up) could be anytime.Producing at a profit anyway. End of June further BIR/MEEI govt. accelerated payment instalment . Latest share price increase is consolidating. MM's seem to want shares.SPT always a mystery....but maybe by end 2018.May well be further upward s/p movement ahead. I was very wrong 6 weeks ago. (borne of market cynicism and some weariness) .When Trin moves it shoots as we see.

I feel you are right. this feels like it has a way to go. Especially if the predicted supply shortage in June comes about.
