Thank Greta, who didn't make life better.
Good for the higher oil price which is nearly double BPs break even price.
One of the main aspects that keeps me interested in my small shareholding in BP is the giant Vostok Project owned by Rosneft. This seems like a potential giant oil and gas field project which starts production in 2024 according to my research.
Group production (mboe/d)(a) 3,242 first half of 2021 as shown in the earnings statements. I would imagine that 3.2 million barrels figure is lower due to Rosneft contribution.
They say that the intention is to reduce output by 40$ over 8 years, however more gas output in Azerbaijian, GofM, yet they also state there target is to have increased production by the end of the year.
The market must be thinking that all this renewable energy is some free charity or potentially loss making
Indonesia approves BP’s giant CCS scheme for Tangguh LNG
GSK-made malaria vaccine could save millions of children in Africa
someone here wrote BP is the most hated? why, I want to know why this is the case? Ok the Macondo disaster didnt help, and the dividend had to be cut, but apart from these factors, there is a lot to like such as the dividend and the pivot to renewable energy which is a good long term strategy. BP are sweating out there bigger yet lower cost assets a lot more than they were in the past
Lets see some more SP upside
With the plan to go green I am beginning to believe in it. It will take a good few years until the solar and wind projects are up and running, but from some of the stuff I have read, the locations they have chosen e.g Ireland for wind, and Spain and Turkey for solar, it makes me wonder if they manage to get things going properly, the investment case becomes stronger.
Seperately todays share price movements is good as the markets are down and us and Shell are up.
my Lynx shower gel and Magnums this weekend from Superdrug and the Co op respectively. I also bought my sensodyne toothpaste and Nicotinell GSK from Superdrug as well.
on seekingalpha new news that BP and Shel starts production from new Manuel project in Gulf of Mexico. Worth a read as the later paragraphs still say that BP is aiming for 900,000 barrels a day increase by the end of this year from new projects. Just wish I saw this before the close
the price of oil and natural gas is higher than it has been in a long while and better than when BP were paying the full dividend. Costs have been cut and asset sales been made. If it werent for this renewable investment requirement then there probably isnt a restriction on increasing the dividend, even by a small amount.
I am prepared for this event, as have bought preference shares and might buy a few more GSK shares to make up the shortfall next year.
surely BP is a buy and natural gas reaches $3.15
I bought last year at £11 but have received a few dividend payments already. My strategy is to buy the equivalent of the 1/3rd I will be reduced in the consolidation, after the ex dividend date but before the special dividend date. There will be dividends in the future
not this year anyway
if I knew the answer I would be rich. They say sell in May,,, but no one sold in May did they?
I dont know enough about car ownership, with EV cars there is no road tax to pay, Londoners pay no congestion charge, but out of warranty and a new battery will cost ££££. I get there will be less maintenance costs. Going back to the costs there are still charging the battery which costs electricity, but it will take most EVs almost all day versus a couple of minutes in a petrol/diesel car.
I did a fools search on buying a new car I wont say what brand I looked at, but lets just say the new electric car was priced from £27.595, whereas a different edition petrol cost just £16,000. Those thinking of a EV revolution, not everyone can afford the EV option.
announced good q1 results. Also they have loads of reserves that will last at least until 2080.
