Thank you all for your kind welcomes, apologies for the brief intrusion earlier, twas all a bit hectic but had the Tesco info to hand.

I was lurking around LSE (and the other one) for a few months before deciding to join this one last week (time will tell, etc.). I have dipped in and out of your ever developing story here and one of my reasons for joining LSE was to say thank you to all the regulars for your informative posts, suggestions, analysis, good humour and wine recommendations ;) All much appreciated.

I don’t know if I’ll have much to contribute and need to earn my stripes (braces?) first, ideally through a series of better timed trades than I’m used to and fewer mista...learning experiences. I do hold or track several (i.e. too many) shares akin to those often discussed here so may dip in with any info I think may be of interest, if that’s okay.

Quick note on Tesco special dividend from RNS to help you out. I'll return to introduce myself more formally once the markets calm down a bit (ha!):

Proposed sale of businesses in Thailand and Malaysia(12)
-- Consideration of $10.6bn (c.GBP8.2bn) on a cash and debt free basis, conditional on shareholder and regulatory approval
-- Plan to return c.GBP5bn to shareholders via a special dividend; GBP2.5bn one-off pension contribution to eliminate funding deficit
-- Completion of sale expected 2H 2020; Thailand and Malaysia to be treated as discontinued for 2020/21 financial year

Needs shareholder approval at a GM expected later this year.
